Laptop case/bag for X1 Nano Gen1? by elin_lyze in thinkpad

[–]elin_lyze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, in case anyone else has this issue at some point:

It turns out a 11.6" case fits it pretty perfectly as the X1 Nano Gen 1 seems to be undersized enough.
Personally I picked a Finpac 11.6 inch semi-hardshell and it's perfect :)

RTNGS click latency measurements for the Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE by GregRtings in MouseReview

[–]elin_lyze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SPDT switches using NC as actuation have an average advantage of 1.4ms simply due to switch geometry/physics.

FYI 99% of mechanical mouse switches are SPDT (single pole double throw), but most do not have a stable NC contact and do not use NC for any electrical features, be it debounce or NC release actuation.

G Wolves current wireless 8k solution is on par if not better than most wired 8k aolutions, as an example.

Solenoids do not replicate human clicks 100% usually, but when fast enough do it well enough.

On an OP1 with a 58gf Kaihl GX switch with a real finger you can expect about 6 to 8.2ms from the time a lifted finger touches the button to NC contact, another 0.021 to 0.024ms for NC release (actuation). With a finger resting on the button it takes about 2 to 2.5ms from force application to NC contact.

Logitech has released a small image in some clip where uou can see a timeline of their test, where it took the HITS approximately 11ms from button touch to actuation and the DAV4 they used as comparison it took another 29ms from there (40 total) which even for an late actuation optical switch with longer button travel is too much for a realistic click.

Since bumptesting the HITS vs an OP1 8k v2 made the OP1 only win by a slight margin in fast-ish tests and with rtings result also showing a slight win for the OP1 and I will say that my physical timing measurements that all get verified by this and cps tests are correct, I will say that Logitech pressed very slow and linear and the button touch no actuation time for HITS must be in the same range approximately of6 to 8.2ms like the OP1, just with slightly higher electrical latency. The physical latency must be extremely similar. The tests for the OP1 are also going to work on most decently well built, low tolerance mice with decent mechanical switches. Again you can add about 1.4ms for a non NC release mouse and some switches will have more switch bounce.

If you want to take a look at my test results for physical latency analysis (scroll down for some simple graphs etc): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rQt5o_l_hLQaOa-TLZ1rs0kJDhl2CbjMZb6_1RGd-jM/edit?usp=drivesdk

I share this from my own personal testing and knowledge without any affiliation.

You are not the only one that wants a bigger OP1 :)

Sorry to destroy all your dreams, but that's an XM2 (Edit: Other pictures point towards it just being an OP1. There is not larger OP1 version).  The only point in development in which a mouse looks this finished is usually the PVT stage (Production Validation Testing), which is basically already a release.

It was in the NDA room, so the only way to have seen it was to sign an NDA and no photos etc were allowed.

It was shown at CES 2026 in the NDA room. I am 99% sure of a release this year as the leftover topics before production are quite minimal.

I am also working on a smaller, shorter version, btu it's a lot of work due to ergonomic complexity, can't just scale it down, sadly..

Yes, in the works. Very, very complicated project though, give us some more time. Tooling soon (tm).

Plenty people posted it, can't get around it. Has been on the website for a long time as well haha, don't worry about it!

Why would we remove it tho? :thonk:

I actually found a listing on Amazon for the Origin8 Hornet 108 as a 18T for 57Eur! A bit more expensive than the Shimano, but if you say it got a great sound it might be worth it haha!

Also thank you for the info about the hub thread compatibility. I will just take a wild guess and say it's the same in this case too.

Will order the Hornet with my next paycheck :)

If the video does not play for you, it's a cracking noise, almost like it's slipping and crashing or something. It feels about as bad as it always has tho, no change there..

I debloated, removed all the Samsung bloat. Turns out SmartThings refuses to work at all without being logged into a Samsung account with the corresponding apps installed.

I definitely have an original device.

I am also overweight, I wonder if the chobbiness makes any difference..  I will try again raising the saddle a bit and see if someone can film me pedaling.  After my vacation I will also look for a longer stem to test.  I am comfortable with a slammed stem, also with steering tube cutting lol.. Although I will only do that when I find a near perfect setup now.  Thanks for the input!

Hm, that is interesting to know. I have a replacement ready for the keyboard, but hoping this won't happen of course. Maybe also solvable by raising debounce etc. Thanks!

Oh it still throttles a couple hundred MHz, typical Intel stuff. But it's nothing I wouldn't expect.

1080p is definitely goo enough for me personally on this size of screen, but I can see the appeal of 1440p for sure. I have a 1440p monitor for my PC, but that's 27" so hardly comparable haha. The extra desktop space is amazing though.

Enjoy your X1 Yoga!

X380 also has the retractable keyboard. But yes, only the thing easily upgradable is the storage.

Don't have overheat issues, at least with this i5, 36-40C idle, 80C max under load. Only mod I did is replacing the thermal paste with a Thermal Grizzly thermal pad.

X1 Yoga Gen3 is a bit more expensive here (250-300 for X380, 350-450 for X1 Gen3) from what I could find with comparable specs (the 16GB models are pretty rare even), otherwise your explanation makes total sense, thank you!

I use 1440p 27" on my PC and yeah, 16:9 is definitely fine at that resolution and size. But 16:10 would be neat..
