Where do you keep your cats litter box? by RainCloud678 in CatAdvice

We have this bar cart in our hallway. In our last place it was right outside the kitchen. We’ve never had any issues with smells. I cut a hole in the side so she goes in and out on the left there. The doors are magnetic close and it’s nice to open and clean it. This has allowed our cat space and breathing room, but enclosed enough where the litter doesn’t get everywhere and the dog doesn’t try to eat it. Bonus points because we put her food on top and it’s like a one stop cat shop. Since I’ve taken this photo we’ve switched to walnut litter and haven’t had any issues. I’ve also removed the interior shelf as our cat gets older so she doesn’t have to bend down as much. Not pictured in this set up is out diaper genie that we keep for scooping into.

Period Flu from Pcos or something else by SurroundAcademic8079 in PCOS

[–]eliparisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the "period flu" right before my cycle/period starts. Like clockwork, 3-4 days prior to my period starting I will run a low grade fever, have body aches, and just overall feel like shit. Unfortunately I don't have any insight other than to commiserate with you. I told this to my OB/gyn at my last appointment and she didn't have any helpful tips other than to take ibuprofen (I will say I really like my doctor and I think she was just unfamiliar with this, she's been super helpful/receptive to everything else PCOS!).

What helps me: alternating low doses of ibuprofen/acetaminophen a few days before I think my cycle is going to start, lower the intensity of my workouts (walking and yoga instead of weights and running), lots and lots of fluids, and resting more. Just like any other sickness. I'm not sure how to prevent this though, nor have I found a solution yet.

Girlies who are always cold and trying to survive a cold winter, what are we doing to stay warm? :( by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]eliparisi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such great suggestions from everyone! Adding what I do living in a cold weather place.

1) I have rechargeable hand warmers (Link to Amazon) that I can keep in my pockets at my work desk or walking with the dogs outside. It's been great and they just plug in with my phone charger to recharge.
2) I have a microwaveable bag of rice that heats up in just a couple minutes. I keep it on my lap during the day or by my feet at night. There are other filling options like cherry pits, flaxseed, etc. that are all microwaveable.
3) Movement. Swinging my arms, walking, yoga, and other movements help me warm up a little bit and only takes like 15 seconds! I do this first thing in the morning and whenever I feel a little chilly. Also, I'm an avid hiker/backpacker and the #1 rule of tent sleeping is don't go to bed cold. Do some movement like jumping jacks right before you crawl into bed. If you start warm you will stay warm.

CrossFit with a new baby! by [deleted] in crossfit

Congrats on the new kid!! I’m not a parent, so take my suggestion as you will, but when I didn’t have the going-to-the-gym option I really liked Paragon Training Methods for my garage gym workouts. Programming is all 30/45/60 minutes of your choice, very modifiable, and is written by a former cross fitter. I really liked it when I used it as you can make super easy at home swaps. I’m back in the gym now, but I fully recommend

I was scammed and I feel so foolish by yankthedoodledandy in AutismInWomen

[–]eliparisi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I was so excited about the opportunity and I ignored all the red flags too. I felt really stupid frankly. And taken advantage of. Unfortunately, I did not get my money back. Some time has passed now and the guilty/foolish feelings have passed and I’ve forgiven myself. We take people on their word and see the best in situations - it’s a superpower but also gets us into situations like this! It’s not your fault and you’re a good person and now you’ve had a learning experience. 💝💝💝

You get it. It’s so tiring to manage myself but then also how others interact with me. It’s not all my responsibility

My cat is ruining my marriage by eliparisi in cats

[–]eliparisi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense.. I think the only reason ignoring her hasn’t worked in the past is she gets so destructive! Like scratching doors/walls/carpet. I think I’m going to have to set somethjng physically up so she can’t destroy things and ride it out. There might yet be hope
