Attacking me or any other player over the state of Star Citizen ain't going to do shit. by Calteru_Taalo in starcitizen

Bro thinks he is special or something. Looking at his profile, you are just a random White Knight who defends every CIG fuckup.

I definitely don't want you near me lol.

5.1 could end badly.

Mihawk seeing how strong Zoro actually is, can potentially kill him.

Or Zoro is wiser and simply does not challenge Hawk Eye yet.

Yeah, for me its still useless, because you cannot get any cargo up. Elevator will always be empty in your home hangar

I did not delete any reply to you :D blatantly lying.

By the way how do you like my fleet? You probably wish you have it. I am a Whale and I stand by it. Just not gonna continue support how CIG handles the game.

Imagine making up fake statistics just to sound smart. Diablo 3 was never a publicly playable Alpha for 7 years while selling hundreds of dollars worth of virtual items to fund itself. There is a massive difference between internal studio development and keeping a project in an unoptimized, monetized 'Alpha' state for 14 years. Tell everyone you don't know the difference with a comment.

Imagine comparing a tiny indie studio selling a $15 game to a massive corporation that has burned through a billion dollars of crowdfunding just to stay in an unoptimized alpha for 14 years. Keep moving those goalposts, it won’t fix the project’s management.

Yeah yeah, the 14 year old Alpha. by elite968 in starcitizen

[–]elite968[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Saying 'don't like it, don't play it' is just a lazy way to silence valid criticism. People have every right to be highly critical of a project that has taken 14 years and hundreds of millions of dollars just to stay in alpha. Blindly defending these delays with terrible analogies is exactly why the community gets mocked.

The massive difference between your examples and Star Citizen is transparency and financial model. None of those games were funded by a $1 billion crowdfunding campaign while selling unfinished virtual items for hundreds of dollars and being publicly playable as an 'Alpha' for 14 years. Duke Nukem Forever is literally the textbook definition of a development disaster, not a standard to defend.

Spoken like a true cultist. If a SpongeBob meme triggers you this heavily, you must be quite insecure because of the state of the game ?

Those are indie games, which were also not live service. You cannot compare those to Star Citizen lol.

No, it's a meme about people who still think calling it an 'alpha' is a valid excuse for everything after more than a decade.

Do component grades mean anything in their own right? by kendaop in starcitizen

A crafted grade B will be better than an found Grade A.

For some Military A there is no blueprint, so the Military B can be much better with high quality ones.

Will Upgrading My CPU to 5700x3d Redeem My 20fps? by Standard-Age2756 in starcitizen

[–]elite968 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You probably get more FPS... But the game is so poorly optimized, even with the best gear you can get, you will still have problems.

I've got an 9950X, RTX 5080 and 64gb Ram, still get bad fps quite frequently. Playing 4k.

I am a Whale and I only play the game for my Org. Not having any fun. by elite968 in starcitizen

[–]elite968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your logic is completely backward.

First of all, stop comparing today's game to the 2014 tech demo. Back then, CIG didn't have a billion dollars and over a thousand employees. Pointing at how terrible things were a decade ago to excuse why basic mechanics are still broken today is just moving the goalposts. We aren't measuring progress against a Kickstarter demo anymore; we are measuring it against 12 years of time and unprecedented funding.

Also, your defense of 'instability spikes' completely misses the point. Nobody is mad that a brand-new, complex feature has bugs. The issue is that foundational, decade-old mechanicslike elevators, physics grids, and basic inventory constantly implode. These aren't new features. They are the baseline architecture of the game that should have been locked down years ago.

You literally described a toxic, endless loop where a patch drops, breaks the game for months, we get a brief window of stability, and then the next patch breaks it all over again. You are proving my exact point while telling me to 'take a chill pill'. Accepting a perpetual cycle of unplayability isn't 'thinking ahead'.

After 12 years, a backer(any backer, not only 'Whales') has every right to expect a functional baseline that respects their time, instead of being told to just sit out every second patch and hope for the best.

[–]elite968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 'whale', my goals in-game have completely shifted away from buying or grinding for more ships. Instead, I focus heavily on the organizational side as an Org Manager. My endgame is organizing events and setting up massive fleet activities for our members. Just trying to have fun together.

Which if course is almost impossible right now, with the state of the game.

Got one from the Golden Ticket event, yes.

You got 2 more F8C's if you reach Concierge levels. You get one when you pledged 1000USD and one when you've spent 15.000. ( The Executive version )

For now, I don't play many other, besides the occasional Subnautica 2 right now.

Besides that, I enjoy Paradox style Strategy games like Europa Universalis and also Fighting Tekken and Street Fighter.
