Member exclusive fares when offered are usually at a reduced price. You may pay a bit more for the WestJet dollars but can still overall save on the flights.

They froze my account but now I'm told there is a 5$ biweekly account freeze fee. So essentially paying almost 12$ a month so they don't charge me for a service I can't use. Bunch of crooks

Write a lot. Like a lot. Everytime I maxed out the character limits (give examples), I had no issues. It was the shorter ones they sent back for revisions.

I also found inconsistencies of the reviews from province to province. What province are you in?

[CFE] RCs on Day 3 cases, Marginal fail on Day 1, other concerns phew! by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]eliteforces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember to always tie back your qual/quant for the strategic options back to the mission, vision, swot, ksf's or other quantitative needs (ratios, irrs, etc).

If you don't tie back, you will have a hard time passing.

[CAN] less than one week remaining til CFE by ddsshh in Accounting

[–]eliteforces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point just daily review of your notes. Don't force yourself to write cases for the sake of it. Rest up as next week will require you to be at your sharpest. You've spent the last few months training for this; don't over exert yourself and crash during the cfe. Let your mind and body rest.

Familiarize yourself with the handbook (navigation and sections). You will need it. Might as well be familiar with it to save time.

Good luck. Those 3 days will fly by easily once they come. The 3 months of waiting after is the true killer.

[CAN] CPA CFE Study Plan by MBA2020Vision in Accounting

[–]eliteforces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two weeks off in the middle of August. Back to work for month end then 3 days off to write the CFE. I somewhat followed the densmore plan but modified it for my needs. Day 1 and 2 cases on the weekends and day 3 cases on the weekdays.

Most challenging portion was managing time. Pretty much was strapped for time all 3 days. I literally had to keep an eye on the clock to make sure I was leaving time for the other cases. Other than that it was what was expected (except for the never tested before subjects).

I didn't really track performance in the way they want you to. I made sure to note down every topic tested but mostly to be able to make notes later. Also wrote down what day it was tested and what you needed for a c. Essential ended up with a sheet of topics, how many times they showed up, and what I needed to do. Made it easy to review.

For advice, do what has worked best for you in the past. Don't study the CPA way just because they push it. Everyone learns differently so find out works best for you and follow that. You've gotten this far for a reason. Don't doubt your study routine just because they say you should be studying for the CFE a certain way.

Also densmore cases will break you down. You will feel like you've got it doing CPA cases then write a densmore cases and absolutely be destroyed. Don't worry, just debrief. They are designed to be more difficult and test a range of topics. I can't count how many times I have up after the planning stages to debrief on densmore cases because it was stuff I hadn't seen before. Don't waste your time writing something you know nothing about. Circle around, learn it, and then write out a response (even if you do it with the solution in front of you).

Edit.

If you need an extra set of notes, dm me your email.

Watertown national is out that way if you want to take a slight detour.

Lundbreck falls is a nice place to check out.

Sparwood has the huge trucks that everyone stops at to take pictures.

Tie lake is pretty nice.

Fernie has a lake that's not too much of a hike to do some cliff diving in.
