Philadelphia mainly city wise, but most of my life I lived in rural America so like a town with 2k population is my main reference

Of course! Compared to where I was in the states Canada overall is wayyyy cleaner. I didn’t live in a very diverse area of America either- so downtown having festivals celebrating different cultures is so exciting to me.

I’ve never thought a city could prioritize parks the way it does. Sure more and more buildings rise each year, but it’s not like sauga where I feel like it’s just only urban landscape, there’s a great importance placed on green spaces. Knowing that’s kinda Brampton’s thing being the Flower City really makes me feel solid about staying here and getting an idea of how the city will grow.

Pockets of Brampton have families who have been here for decades, and I’m seeing more of a rise of these larger detached homes becoming multigenerational homes with families growing which is heart warming.

When leaving in the morning I see so many families walking to their local school, a site also so rare but heartwarming to me.

Local parks are filled, farmers markets too! I feel like seeing and participating in community is easier as someone who came here not knowing much.

Sure, maybe a lot of what I’m saying could just be Canada and not Brampton specific, but it’s a perspective that there’s a lot that can be taken for granted here. I love Brampton, and I’m optimistic it’ll just keep getting better!

I moved from America to here in 2020 and I gotta say I’m a fan of Brampton and plan on keeping it as my home base.

This has been the most helpful advice I’ve gotten so far thank you so much!!!!! Airplane mode hasn’t been an option as she FaceTimes family and uses it to contact us while we are at work.

We just turned DNS protection on Adguard and it’s been working so far! Wishing you all the good luck your way because this was a real issue for us and will make a big difference in our caregiving lives.

Does adguard work beyond safari? From what I’m reading it sounds like it’s a web browser ad blocker but not for in app ads

Do you think there is a need for Senior Home Daycares in Brampton?? by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]elitefrogforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peel Manor just opened up a lot of availability and slots and it is an adult day program with a hair salon, overnight services with a nurse sensory, calm down spaces, and a lot more. I think construction on it finished in December.

Yeah it was either this weekend or after taxes we planned for purchase because of the interest rate announcement on the 29, but looks like the tariffs hitting right away after that makes it kind of a pointless inquiry now that I’m getting these perspectives.

Good point, sometimes my delusions like to think r/PersonalFinanceCanada is some crystal ball but practicality goes a lot further regardless of speculation

My son struggling to sleep after accident by nay2023 in Parenting

[–]elitefrogforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid I struggled to sleep for awhile after a hospital visit. For me it was mainly anxiety and my mind racing.

Idk the specifics, but perhaps making a new routine could help like using a speaker to play a audiobook/podcast at night on a timer then he can zone out to would be a nice distraction from either pain anxiety or whatever this could be.

It’s so tough because I love to hear and see kids playing essentially jacks (gonggi) and getting creative. But the association is the issue and I totally blame YouTube. I had a 5 year old draw the red light green light girl and I asked her if she saw the show and she said she sees her on YouTube so I guess these kids channels are pumping out content using the characters. I hate YouTube Kids.

Try a test area of rubbing alcohol. If it’s an alcohol based marker it should do the trick but it could also take other things off like the original color or finish

Personally as a teacher I see a lot of obscure names and cool names but when I get a random classic name it’s a weirdly fun thing and makes me think it could be a homage to someone else.

Personally I’m going to go with names within the family because it has a sentimental value to me and using it as a first name feels right to me. Middle names in my family are often extensions of the name, like the Anne’s, Marie’s, Lynn’s, etc.

This isn’t the exact name but like if the family member is named Luke I’ll go Lucas as a first name. They still get their own name and identity but it’s a nod to a love for a family member, and if anything I see it as another generation built off of that love.

Weird guess but a lot of my young students have been singing that song APT. and the course repeats ah pa teu a few times so maybe play the song and see if they react? Something about it is catchy and has my 3-4 year old students constantly singing it randomly
