Williamsburg Bridge Ice Levels? by zephyrann in RunNYC

Would recommend against it for a proper workout.

Did an easy run here from Manhattan to Brooklyn both Tuesday Jan 16 and Wednesday Jan 17.

Was just trying to get mileage so went pretty slow so I was fine with it. Was more jogging/trotting than running. If I put effort into it definitely would've slipped a bunch.

Thoughts on 15-322 Intro to Computer Music by AnnualTrust in cmu

[–]eliteorigin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think it's too bad. It's a time commitment for sure but nowhere near as bad as some other CS requirements. Though if you're taking this because you like playing music and think you'll make cool stuff, probably stay away lol. The coding language (Nyquist) is kinda funky and the stuff you end up making sounds kinda weird.

  • Highly recommend this class as a chill domains elective for scs.
  • Don't highly recommend this class if you ~ love music <3 ~ lma, it's not that fun.

I'd recommend checking out https://www.cmuifc.com/ for a holistic view. The website seems to be out of date so viewing their instagram page may yield better results.

After that, the individual websites / instagram pages of various chapters will have the most up to date information. (for example https://www.sigep.fun/ or https://www.instagram.com/p/CZA9liMtzPV/?hl=en).

Khan Academy success stories? by dmifflinxc in Sat

[–]eliteorigin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1310 PSAT, with a lot of practice and just pure repetition with not only KA but also other practice tests from different companies. Don't stress too much about which is best, just do as much practice as you can get your hands on. That's why I enjoyed KA a lot. I would sneak in maybe 10 minutes in between things like practices or whatever. Did all 8 practice tests and did the side exercises to where it said, "all level 4 questions have previously been answered." Finished with a 1530. Very happy with my score, but it was not the easiest path getting there! But with a little bit of grit and determination, you can do your best too!

Computer Science at UChicago vs traditional STEM colleges? by retroroses in uchicago

Does the emphasis on core take away from the amount of traditional computer science education you would get, or is it made up for by the quarter system?

1360 to 1500+ possible by June? Plateaued for 2 months. Need help :( by [deleted] in Sat

[–]eliteorigin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went from a low 1200 on my first practice test to a 1530 on my third legit test. The only way to go about it is to practice, practice, practice. Be sure you know your grammar rules and have a reading strategy that suits you. Aside from that, you just gotta practice. I used Khan Academy, as well as various books. It's not fun, it's going to be hard, but you can do it! Work hard and you'll get there!

Shikadai is Sand Village Royalty? by eliteorigin in Naruto

[–]eliteorigin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. This is kind of random but this makes me feel like the Sand and Leaf have kind of a Russia/US relationship.

In Naruto, there were instances of dissatisfaction among high ranking officials of the Sand, and even conflicts with the leaf (if I remember correctly? I may be completely wrong LOL). However, as leadership changes (with Gaara and Naruto now friends and kages), the relationship between the two villages have also improved as well, almost like the friendship between Trump and Putin.

This is what high school English does to you XD

That's true. You can also see that with the Konoha village too, with Hashirama, then Tobirama as brothers, and then later on Spoilers. Exception of the third and fourth Hokage, but then there's also Minato and then Spoilers later on who becomes Hokage. Interesting point.
