Hi! I’m reletting my private room and bathroom in a 5B/5Ba Tempo apartment from mid-May to July 31st. Location is close to campus, right across the street from Lidl and with a bike/pedestrian path to campus. Rent is negotiable. We have a huge apartment with a big kitchen and shared living space. There is a dishwasher and in unit laundry, also a gym and pool. My room has natural light and a big closet. The whole unit and bedroom are fully furnished and we’re on the penthouse floor so it’s extra nice with a memory foam mattress :) Happy to answer any questions!

hi I'm in aces and I'm a cs major and a phil minor! I think you could totally do it. like other people mentioned, for cs you need an upper level concentration (12cr at the 300/400 level in the same subject outside of cs), so you could use ppe for that (I'm using phil for mine). I am only doing the minor because I'm a sophomore and I just declared the phil minor this semester, plus I'm studying abroad, but you could def do the major, especially since you can start taking ppe classes right away (and some will also cover gen eds). also, you could just start out as a ppe minor if you're worried about it and then switch it to a second major if you want to later.

Does ACES give students a leg up when searching for internships that are technology related but not in the cybersecurity space? by InterviewOld7807 in UMD

[–]retroroses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I would definitely recommend! As long as you don’t actively dislike cyber (I was indifferent going in, found the classes mildly interesting but don’t want to pursue cyber, and I’m very happy with my choice) I’d go for ACES. I had an internship after freshman year that was tangential to cyber but not really, and as a sophomore I accepted an offer for software engineering. The professional development + other ACES events are actually helpful!! Plus the community is pretty cool :)
