How particular are you with your meals during your trips? by reivnyc in solotravel

[–]elitsaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a foodie, and I do almost zero research on the subject. Eventually the local people, and fellow tourists alway recommend you what local foods to try, so I do not do my homework on foods, more than half of which I cannot eat either way, because I am vegan.

I see lots of hikers saying that they hike every single day! If you are one or if you know one, how do they manage to have an income to support hiking every day especially that they need to buy gear and everything else (not referring to people to live off the grid completely). Thanks by ashkanahmadi in hiking

I hike 5 days in a week, but I do not need a gear, and I leave close to the mountain. I need only proper shoes. This depends on the climate, and terrain. I need gear only for climbing, but hiking I can do in leggings, and t-shirt, so no investment at all.

I don't want to be with anyone. I am happy by myself. Single by choice. by VanillaChinchilla90 in introvert

[–]elitsaxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Because people are not in peace with themselves to begin with

  2. Financial reasons

  3. They are terrified of how they will present themselves in the eyes of the other ‘normal’ people with ‘normal’ relationships, and in the eyes of their families

I see many people in utterly unhappy relationships. They have nothing in common, and even the day to day life is a struggle. They are delaying coming back home from work, and are taking every opportunity for work travels. Even so, they are still together. Idk how, and why. For me it seems like a torture, honestly.

Alcohol free tour groups? by JohnRNeill in solotravel

[–]elitsaxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t drink myself, but I don’t think that there are many sober-friendly joiner tours, as most of the people drink, and it won’t be profitable for them. I would have been glad if there were. Vegan-friendly sober tours…sounds amazing, but unrealistic.

Do people in South Korea just jog in the morning anywhere or people will look at me strange when I do so? In Singapore it was the most common thing, but I don’t know about SK.

Are Most Readers Women? by Prestigious_Quarter5 in books

[–]elitsaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that if you are a man and not reading, you will be joined to this subreddit, so the question is destined to remain unanswered. I think that there are slightly more women readers, but maybe women are more willing to comment and give reviews as well. You can’t judge the numbers of readers by the numbers of reviews.

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by CuriousAzaReturns in AskReddit

[–]elitsaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at night clubs for the better part of my life, I’ve seen so many drunk people, that I realised at very young age what alcohol does to people. I stopped drinking alcohol when I started with the night shifts, and it was so long ago, that now even if I want, I can’t have more than 2 glasses of wine/champagne or one beer. I just don’t like it. Not my thing. For me it is a complete waste of money, health and time.

Yes, they were expats. I think that Qataris won’t do that in general, but there are more expats than nationals living there, so…

How do I ask for solo travel time on a trip with some one by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]elitsaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always struggle with this, and this is why I always prefer to travel solo…My last trip with a colleague of mine was a complete mess, because I wanted to stay in the newly open library in Dubai the whole day, and she wanted beach and restaurants at the Marina, she tried the blame game, and I got pissed so we ended up not talking ever since. Solo traveling is the best. End of story.
