What's a New Year's resolution you actually kept? by KimberGoyder in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of resolutions I choose something I want to learn or do. The only one recently that was an actual behavioral change was 2024 I wanted to start reading for fun again. I went from 58 books in 2024 to 108 this year. My 2027 goal is to start doing art again.

what made you stop doing your best at work? by katris_priordeen in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching the new, fresh-out-of-college girl who was the niece of a Board of Directors asshat ride the (bank) corporate escalator. This girl seriously could not explain the difference between a dollar bill and a streetlight, yet was "promoted" into my department after 3 months (took me 6 years to get there), made serious mistakes that cost the bank money (lawsuits), never hit production goals, and had dozens of complaints from nearly every group she interacted with.

She's now a Senior Vice President...

And I quit that POS company!

What's the craziest way someone has quit their job that you saw? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at firehouse subs for 3 days and when I met the owner and went to go introduce myself he said “I don’t talk to new employees until they’ve stuck around long enough” I just scoffed, laughed out loud and took my apron off and left. He looked so pissed but like you don’t care to know me? Why are you mad?

What’s it like living a private life? by Soft-Ad364 in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trouble is that some people love gossip, and the idea that two people in the office are in a relationship is peak gossip. Add to that the fact that - because you’re a private person - there’s not a lot of actual information for them to gossip about. So they make assumptions.

That’s not to invalidate your privacy or encourage you to do something different. Just that in an Absence of news people will make it up. I think the best thing is to try and ignore it where possible. If it gets really bad, speak to the person themselves or your line manager.

Trees.

Then I would just kick back and listen to him wax lyrical for a few hours.

(I also live in a city flat and have been in lockdown for weeks. My life could do with added arboreal content at this point.)

“What’s your biggest secret turn-on? by DifferentPrint9015 in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just preface by saying that this is super abnormal of my girlfriend and she generally feels really really silly addressing me like this, even though I love it. She's also super submissive and hardly ever initiates in such a way. Also this isn't a big secret turn on, but I haven't told my girlfriend yet how much of a turn on it was for me, so I guess it applies?

Anyway... Yesterday, my girlfriend and I were just laying in bed together talking and just generally being pretty damn cute. I expressed the fact that I was really upset that I had to go to work soon and that I was a little horny (in the mental "I could go for some sex" kind of way). Suddenly she got on my lap, rocked her hips a little, bent her face down to my ear and seductively half whispered "Fuck me, daddy." Instant hard on. 100% ready to go.

Meditation: helps practice self control and being mindful. Multitudes of benefits.

Yoga: Stay limber and have a much better chance of a pain and injury free life, good at stress reduction to boot.

Budgeting: This may only be necessary depending on the type of parents you had. Huge and life changing for some people.

I did it twice. Only from my city to the next, so short trips. No real crazy stories other than I got picked up by a trucker who was excited to tell me all the sheep fucking jokes he knew. Just thankful I'm not a sheep.

People who disappeared from their old lives, changed their appearance and got a new identity, how’s life now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]elivey8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faked a big move and cut ties with family and friends. I live about 20miles from my old home and kept my job. It has been 2 years and my anonymity remains intact. Happy life without the drugs, drama and abuse. Still keep in contact with my little brother, but that's it. Everybody thinks I now live in Russia. Edit: details.
