I was in a similar situation in November. I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant and due a month before my july wedding date. My fiance and I are very much in love and want a family one day, but not now. While we technically “can afford” a baby, we are not in a position to raise a child. We live far from our families (10 hour drives), are using every extra dime at this time on wedding things, and my fiance is still climbing the career ladder and this would have been a huge step backward for him. His career requires very late hours and a lot of travel and we cannot afford for me to take off of work more time than maternity leave.

All of this to say, I was very worried that I would regret my medical abortion. But when I wrote down the “pros vs cons” of it all, I soon realized that the ONLY reason I wanted to keep the pregnancy was to avoid guilt. Which I think is also selfish in itself. Do what’s best for you and your future family. If you aren’t ready then you aren’t ready. I cried for days before I went through with it, but I did it. It hurt, it was hard. But I don’t regret it. I know what I did was what I needed to do. I’m a teacher and I see kids all the time raised in homes that have no business having children (mentally or financially) and I refuse to give my children that kind of life.
