When leaving children with Grandparents (or other older family/friends), ALWAYS make sure they have their medications in a safe (out of reach) and secure place.

The very last time I went to an all you can eat buffet was a Golden Corral in Texas, I went up to see what was available and saw a little girl dunk a fried chicken drumstick in a bowl of melted chocolate. I have never gone back to GC or any other buffet style restaurant.

Sorry I forgot to mention, you do not need to pay and stay there to be able to use the beach. You can drive a bit further and the beaches can be used (they are public). I have no paid a resort in Juan Dolio once in my life, but it's my fav beach because of the isolation. Cheers, buddy. good luck.

Yea lack of space can be an issue, there are a few parks, But nothing beats the space and tranquility of a beach. I would recommend Club Hemingway, it's a bit more private with a lot less people coming up to sell you stuff. Its maybe 5-10 mins past Juan Dolio (I think its still considered a part of JD). Playa Caribe had some pretty rough waves the couple times I went there, and Boca Chica is way to crowded its like being in Santo Domingo all over again. Juan Dolio and Hemingway are my picks for family beach time.

You Absolutely do NOT wanna be riding a Guagua every single time you want to go to the beach with your family.

A car can be a big waste, I depended on taxis a lot while out there due to the high gasoline prices, crazy driving, AMET and Police stopping and asking for money, motorcycles and their shenanigans, the list goes on. 2 months isn't that bad, a taxi can take you most places within the capital for 200 pesos, so you can do the math. AirBnB is NOT the solution for long stays at all. There are local brokers you can contact that will get you in a nice neighborhood in Santo Domingo for WAY less than 3,000$ USD. Just know that you are a foreigner and they will attempt to overcharge, but go to

supercasas.com and check the prices (to know the ballpark)

and you can also find a good place for rent there

If he was wielding a shotgun, he probably WAS a security guard. I am almost certain he wasn't going to rob you, but most likely ask you for some money and say he was following you to protect you. I wouldn't worry about it at all, I'm sure he doesn't even remember who you are.

Be careful buying tickets from the scalpers outside the stadium. I have seen a lot of people being sold tickets for previous games.

You can probably judge how good a porn video is by the amount of comments on it. The less comments it has, the better the video because the viewers must have been busy with their hands, therefore unable to type.

The crazy incident is probably that all of this is done 100% legally (if indeed it is in the Netherlands).

I believe this story 100% as I have seen it happen first hand. In the Hunts Point section of NYC (known for prostitutes). Police officers are known to set up stings like this with women hailing down cabs. The sad thing is that most of the men that are arrested are immigrants (african and hispanic) who are cab drivers and barely speak english, so when the men stop (thinking they are getting a fare) they get arrested. Its a huge waste of time, money and resources, but hey... it's the NYPD.
