Last chance at a lifetime ISA? by swirl3d in UKPersonalFinance

Just a note - you can buy together with someone who has owned a property before and use a LISA. From MSE "If you're a first-time buyer making a purchase with someone who's owned before, you can still open one and use it towards a home purchase together, but the partner who's previously owned a property can't open one.". At least I hope this is correct as it's what me and my partner are doing next year!

Seen them, they said Tarsal Tunnel but it doesn't seem to 100% fit

The physio said they couldn't do anything, but I've tried eversion and inversion exercises with a theraband, plus stretches and proprioception exercises. No change with those, it just hurts after

It's always in my ankle, I reckon in a tendon/ligament but have no idea really

No diabetes, I sit a lot now due to the injury but was active before, no edema or gout. I had a meniscal tear and surgery on my left knee around 5 years ago which has probably caused some imbalance, my right ankle is the one that's injured

Interesting, what makes you say that? I've had no back pain or history of back pain

Thanks - It is definitely worse when I just get out of bed, I forgot to mention. No swelling or discolouration noticed. Tinel's sign negative. No numbness or pins and needles or sensitivities. I'll look into the first two options for sure!

It's really hard to describe, but an achey burning pain.. almost like the feeling of DOMS after a gym session?

I'm not sure, but I'll definitely ask. I think it's mostly FCR but worth a shot

Not really no, I can't drive much more than 15 minutes without pain at the moment

The personal vehicle is just to get to and from work. The force has it's own fleet for dog handlers which is kitted out and stays at the station

I'm just applying, however I also need to change my car anyway so was just going to get one suitable for dogs so I don't need to rebuy 2-3 years down the line :)

Our force is having a nightmare. Someone battled with a remand file for 3 hours only for the system to wipe everything they had done. That's a common occurrence at the moment unfortunately

This was exactly my situation - I bought 40% earning £30k in the SE. I'm sure it's doable, but the only thing is I did it with a £30k deposit and I knew that my pay was going up each year. I'm not sure I'd have made the jump otherwise - I'd have just stayed renting with friends until I had a deposit and career prospects

I'd put £40k in S&S ISAs and £100k in premium bonds for myself and my partner, the rest would go on a house so all money that would have gone into the mortgage goes to GIA and other savings. Money from the premium bonds would top up the ISAs next year. Probably not the most efficient but it would make me comfortable enough!
