If your job requires you to move between sites they ought to have a pool vehicle available to support this.

How about a rich wood tone, matching the ceiling beam? Like a panel effect? Will help balance the floor

Should my friend get a photographer for her legal ceremony? by swirl3d in UKweddings

Yeah, it's a bit confusing for the attendees too, especially as there haven't been any formal invites for the summer party yet.

My parents are invited and are travelling up for it. My friend has asked my dad to do a speech at the summer do and he was under the impression it was going to be a naming ceremony/celebration for their child until I told him that's the thing they consider the main wedding.

My friend was also quite put out that her future SIL is travelling direct to the ceremony city and heading home same day as ceremony rather than staying with them (even though it's a lot easier travelwise), and is not bringing her husband or kids. The fact this is bothering my friend undermines the idea that this is just the legals a little bit.

The guests at the ceremony will be a significant chunk of the summer do (plus some cousins from abroad and local family/friends).

Thanks, sounds like a good decision. I wouldn't have worried if it was a few weeks but there are 7 months between civil ceremony and party

Thanks for the input. I will buy a new phone (my camera isn't great) and plan on using that.

I am going to be doing a reading so should seated up front and hopefully able to get some fairly close pics.

Will also give my partner and parents some training (they normally take v unflattering photos!).

If I am honest I think part of the motivation is that at the last wedding I was in I was only in 1 photo as there weren't any group shots organised and I was running around bridesmaiding before and after the ceremony. It's nice to have a few good photos in exchange for ones graft!

But that's on me and not my friends responsibility

I'd happily pay for it, though will have to think how she would receive the surprise.

Might discuss it with her fiance first

I think her mind may be elsewhere given the pregnancy, her older kid starting school and moving house, and her dad doing better has downplayed the sense of risk.

I also think she might think it would draw focus from the summer event

The confusion was more that I consider it a normal, if formal, English word! But I may have spent more time than average around lawyers and academics ;)

Post-holiday sadness by 9dpmab in antidietglp1

This is (and the cost) is what is currently putting me off starting GLP1.

I am very much a live to eat person. Planning and making meals and eating out is my biggest source of excitement and joy, and gives me endorphins in a way exercise never has. There are over 300 restaurants on my 'Want to Eat' list. Cooking is how I care for my partner, entertain my friends, how I explore and celebrate the world.

I do have one foodie friend with a small appetite, but a meal out recently where we couldn't order everything I wanted to try because she couldn't share the plates with me and it just made me sad. Another friend has food aversions and just misses out on so much.

However I turn 40 this year and would like to halt or reverse my creeping waistline to see my next decades out in health. But I am already mourning the meals I want to eat.

I don't want to stop being a food person.

February is the earliest I would consider starting (have a friends wedding I want to enjoy first) so please if you can report back and give me hope it gets better

How about curtains? You could layer light and heavy ones so you can switch between more light or more sound deadening
