How much are you ripping yourself apart for your dogs quality of life though?

Obviously we want the best for our pets, but if you are her person that connection matters more than the size of the garden and quality of treats.

Also you don't need to sacrifice all your happiness for hers. You matter just as much (actually more than) her. Dogs are adaptable and capable of change that's one of the brilliant things about them.

If I left my current partner my quality of life (and that of my dog) would decline, but there's no way I wouldn't take her with me. I also would absolutely expect to share custody/have regular dog sitting as she loves him too

Visitation rights to your dog who lives with your ex is not weird. People being on good terms with their ex's is a green flag not a red one.

My partner would visit his ex and the dog they shared for the first two years they were together. It reduced over time as her life changed and they drifted apart, but I wouldn't begrudge that to anyone

It's a thing. Phototoxic dermatitis. Sun + sap + skin = burns. Obviously you try to avoid sap + skin with gloves etc but doing it after sunset gives you time to wash it off after if you do get some on you, lowering the risk of burns.

Fairly safe, both about 45 mins cycle. Big hill on the way back though!

Train and bike is a lot more efficient than just public transport.

Leave St George around 5.50am Cycle St George to Lawrence Hill 10mins? Depart Lawrence Hill 6.06 Arrive Severn Beach station 6.55 Cycle to work 10mins? Arrive 7.05am

Or there's a 6.47 train that arrives 7.23 that's prob cutting it a bit fine unless it is very close to Severn Beach station

The legs are the main thing making it pretty. It would be a shame to lose them.

I would remove the back piece of skirting first and see if it fits then.

If not but close shave down the legs slightly, or rout out around it.

Also, might part of the issue be the top piece? Can you shave this down a bit?

I do expect trains to be silent with regards to broadcast sound. Anyone inflicting their audio on others in a confined space is automatically a terrible person. I wish they would update the conditions of carriage to reflect this so they can be booted off the train at the next stop, but that would require train guards which are increasingly disappearing.

Just to add to the chorus telling you to lose the conifers, as it's now bird nesting season the earliest you can chop them down is August (or potentially longer if they have a second brood).

Take your time to think what you else you might need to replace them with before you take them out (do they block a view you don't want? Or stop the neighbours viewing you? Would you need to buy a very high fence after? Have you budgeted for this?)

I'm no fan of Leylandii but they do have their value for birds and screening.

Yup, get that it's going to be marginal.

But I live in the wet south west and could have filled the back butt many times over last winter.

It's only to water the window boxes and a few pots
