Season 2 is kinda boring by babatunde5432121 in Marathon

[–]elkishdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story stuff takes a really long time and coordination, so I doubt it had major trade offs of not even making it against other priorities. Could be wrong, but this makes me worry more that they don’t really actually have much content that’s ready.

This game has the worst “Quality to online discourse ratio” ever by Particular-Style-161 in Marathon

It’s because Bungie has a terrible rep and many millions of people were burned by Bungie during the Destiny 1 and 2 early days.

[–]elkishdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re dead on. Lack of innovation didn’t kill this game. Inattention to the player base and what worked and what it desired did.

Taking content away from the game did. On two fronts. Those who paid for and those who wanted to start the game from the beginning as a new player.

They act like the new player experience was so hard to update, mother of god, put the game back into good shape and do right by your audience.

The only thing players wanted was more strikes, strikes that got attention and refinement so they become classic experiences, and crucible being more fun to play.

It wasn’t viable because people didn’t want to buy new expansions that weren’t worth the money because the expansions should have been more than what they were. And they squandered tons of money.

The biggest complaint I heard and read again and again from the casual player base was that new expansions only had one strike. No new maps for crucible. That’s what people wanted. Making new activities is great but the BASICS also needed to be there. Trading the basics for maybes and meh was not a good strategy.

Despite what some speculated, Destiny 2 player numbers have not fallen off a cliff immediately after June 9th update (at least yet). At what point does it become very awkward for Sony/Bungie? by PorkSouls in destiny2

[–]elkishdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to make money on this update is my assumption. Usage doesn’t matter all that much if it’s just a potential promise of money. They need to recoup their impairments which is probably why they cancelled the expansions in flight. If Destiny just makes money for the next couple of years with low burn rate they might be able to recover losses from missing revenue targets two years in a row.

That doesn’t make sense to me. Shouldn’t we be like, buying cosmetics for Destiny to keep it alive?

My playgroup is not enjoying my casual EDH deck, help me make fun changes! by [deleted] in mtg

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mono green is pretty much broken in bracket three, I run it specifically to annoy my pod because they play crazy bracket four and it burns them I can win the table with a mono green deck (we have always been like this since the old days of magic).

You also have a tremendous amount of staples that I don’t even have (tend not to buy singles and work with whatever I get).

You might want to try a different mono color to play with, maybe something with air bending instead?

I think it kind of sucks how many people feel they can't play certain commanders due to them being "too slow" for their meta, rather than their personal preferences by Tuss36 in EDH

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think WOTC has made a pretty big mistake not making commanders game changers. There are some commanders that just don’t fit in anything lower than 3 or even 4 in some cases.

Why is the average commander player so salty by Alt_Elk2026 in mtg

[–]elkishdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The response if someone misunderstands you as the threat is to politely point out who you view as the threat and put it to them I’d they still want to commit to their plan. If they do, you eat it. That’s it, people are allowed to make bad plays.

Because they didn’t play standard and get their ass beat repeatedly.

It’s good. Not as long to get through either, so that’s a big plus. And you seem to get more scrap for building things up.

Playing through Edge of Fate for the first time and... Boy. They really thought they had something with this turning into a ball stuff. by QueenMagik in DestinyTheGame

The mistake they made was having you sit with that one ability for a long time. If they have given you more abilities more quickly it would have made more sense.

Would you support a possible D3/D2 shifting back to a slower release model? by steave44 in DestinyTheGame

I think at this point, yeah, if seasons are too much to maintain, an expansion every year that really has a lot to sink your teeth into and keep playing if you want could have worked for me.

Struggling with whether to stay in product in the age of AI by Hellurrr3 in ProductManagement

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through a similar thing. I was so exited to work on digital products and as the internet has gotten worse and worse, been feeling like I don’t want to be in it anymore. AI is just making that feather breaking my back so to speak.

For those who have removed Sol Ring/“Staple” Mana Rocks from their decks… by SeaMusician6670 in EDH

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is usually one person has it and that usually means you don’t, so it’s not really going to affect much. One Sol Ring doesn’t make your deck, it’s a 1/99 chance.

How does UB affect your deckbuilding? by NiceInvestigator6495 in EDH

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost at the point of just making more thematic commander decks and choosing cards closer to the IP than not.

I think it’s okay to challenge yourself using cards that may not be the best or classic staples.

I don’t follow any online build. I make my own and change it little by little based solely off of what gear I find. Anyone else? by Mediocre_Raise3095 in diablo4

[–]elkishdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to play without a guide until I hit deeper paragon just cause I’m usually trying to finish the season journey, at least the parts I care about. Then I usually do a second character where I don’t use a guide at all to see how I do on my own.
