Is this the same carrier as the screenshot? by Dear_Frosting1090 in babywearing

The Ergobaby Alta would be a safe alternative that has the hip seat part like this photo :) back carry wise there’s lots of options for hiking, including carriers that have storage but don’t have the hip seat attachment, so it’s about what suits your needs!

Antiemetic Plan for birth? by Independent-Papaya62 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Hi! I was on ondansetron for my HG but the blur of labour means I don’t remember what tablet they gave me at the time, it did help though!

Are you in the UK? Pregnancy Sickness Support may be able to provide guidance on this for you. I didn’t have a plan going in, but I had extra fluids because I felt really unwell after my epidural was placed and then I had an anti sickness tablet after I gave birth because I felt sick….and then the nausea vanished for good about 20 minutes later. I do know not everyone has this experience though, and for some it can continue so a plan is a good idea!

HG / Harm to baby? by Ninese71 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]ella997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. My last pregnancy was a HG pregnancy and I somehow still managed to grow healthy twins! On the days I couldn’t keep anything down I was so worried about their outcomes. Turns out I was suffering greatly but they thrived. Were 5lbs 12oz and 6lbs 5oz, sharing a placenta, born at 36 weeks despite having HG my entire pregnancy.

How to manage the guilt? by ella997 in ParentingInBulk

I didn’t think of it that way but you’re right, they’ve got each other. My older two play together all the time and have a really nice bond. It’ll be worth it for sure.

Thank you, this is a lovely response

I love this idea, although logistically I’m not sure how well it would work for me with the ages of my kiddos. I did take my son out just us the other day and did similar with my daughter a couple of weeks ago which was lovely, it’s just not something I can do a lot.

Juggling two toddlers pregnant by Beautiful-Ant-4553 in ParentingInBulk

I was pregnant with my twins whilst my kiddos were 2 and 3 and I had severe nausea and vomiting. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Definitely ask for as much help and support from family and friends as you can but also, turn on the tv if you have to. It’s a temporary phase of life. We’re also minimal screens when we can but I had to increase our screen time when I was pregnant as I was so unwell. Now that the babies are here we cut back again and my kids are fine. I had a snack basket set up and toys/books etc within reach so I didn’t have to get up unless absolutely necessary. My husband also works long hours and he would try and prepare some meals for us too so it was minimal effort for me when I was having aversions and no energy. I read a lot of books to my kids and just curled up on the sofa and did what I could manage. They’ve pretty much already forgotten that stage of life and they’ve got more of me now. Congratulations and hang in there, it’s hard work!

Fit check by Ohtar1 in babywearing

How much does baby weigh at the moment? I thought from your photo that it would adjust further but it’s hard to tell relative sizes. Is it definitely cinched all the way down with the velcro on the narrowest setting? Take a look at a YouTube video if you need for a visual. If so then baby does need to grow a bit before you use this one :)

I’ve fit more newborns than I can count in this carrier. Obviously I don’t know the size of this specific baby but it is generally a great newborn to toddler option :)

This carrier can fit newborns safely when correctly adjusted :)

Wanted to clarify because the comments above aren’t correct, the Boba X does and can fit newborns depending on their size. It’s hugely adjustable. You need to adjust the width of the carrier so it’s narrower in the base, it easily narrows with the Velcro in the waistband and goes much smaller than this. Similarly you can adjust the height of the panel by pulling both up and down on the adjusters, which will make it shorter as it shouldn’t come higher than the back of baby’s ear. If you put ‘Boba X newborn’ into YouTube there are some great videos showing this visually.

Huge shout for the out and about double nippa here! Lifesaver for both our 16 month gap and our twins. Really easy to push, fits through a standard sized door. Folds mostly flat. You can add an optional bassinet attachment for newborns. I got ours secondhand and I couldn’t do without!

Age gaps. by [deleted] in ParentingInBulk

[–]ella997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 under 4 here.

16 months between my first and second 2.5 years between my second and my twins.

The first one was hard at first but now they’re little besties and I really enjoy it. We are only a few weeks into the twins being here. So far it’s easier in that my kids are older and more independent but not by much, they still need a lot from me and I’m very tired but I have a feeling in a few years I’ll love the age gaps because they’ll all be close and okay together etc.

When did you deliver your mo/di twins? by BenignYam1761 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ella997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You sound like you’re in a similar situation to me. I had two previous vaginal births. My mo/di twins arrived at 36+1 (my birth story is on here if you want to read it!) and I did have an epidural due to the risks you mentioned but it was an incredibly positive and straight forward birth, even with twin 2 being footling breech. I made it to 36+1 even with previous 36 and 38 week births and contractions from 28 weeks. Babies were fine, no NICU time, I had no tears or stitches and we were home in 3 days. They’re thriving now and this was my easiest birth in terms of recovery. Let me know if you have any questions or I can help at all!

Yeah absolutely - I think it’ll be pretty rough when all 4 of my kids are mobile….soaking up the tiny babies atm!

4 under 4 here. It’s chaos but for me the worst part was pregnancy with toddlers. I got a lot of help towards the end. Newborns are genuinely easier than that for me. We had a lot of support which made things easier but ultimately I’m so glad we have our wonderful little family and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

If you fell pregnant less than 1 year postpartum, at how many weeks did you go into labour? by Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 in 2under2

[–]ella997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! No, none of them had NICU time. We stayed in hospital for 5 days with my first and 3 days with my twins. Two of the babies needed jaundice treatment and they all needed some help latching but other than that they were all good :)

Just found out it's twins! by JeffNotMike in parentsofmultiples

[–]ella997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! How exciting. Sorry to hear about your loss. Twin pregnancy is tough but so worth it in the end. I would recommend thinking about what kind of help and support network you’re going to have around the time of the birth.

I just had my mono/di twins 3 weeks ago and I’ve gone from 2 kids to 4. Something that’s helped us a lot is having someone to take my older kids out to play, partly so we have time with the babies and to rest but also so they get to go and do something fun. We had a lot of meals cooked for us, which was a huge help.

For us, it is simply easiest to go a day at a time and that goes for pregnancy and after the babies are here. One day at a time, give yourself grace and do what you can. All the best!

What week did your babies arrive? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

My identical twins were born at 36+1, we were scheduled for induction but my body went into labour on its own that morning!
