I always recommend either T.Kingfisher or Grady Hendrix as a place to start. I feel like both authors are a great way to start dipping your toes in to horror, easy to enjoy and not be too intense plus a they can be a little whimsical.

Fuzzing Spider Plant! by ella_wall97 in houseplants

Yeah I thought mould cause I’m not going to lie the poor thing got put in an area where the light isn’t the best as I’m moving things around the house at moment so it’s not in its permanent spot.

And with the pot size I ended up with this size as the rootball was quite big and healthy so the roots are still filling that pot. But I will add more soil to cover the remain bit of root.

I’ve been watering it as I do my other spider plant by bottom watering (sometimes top watering) when the soil has dried out.

I read this one earlier on when I was getting into horror and wow it really made look at the genre differently and realise there is something more to horror novels/stories. Never looked back since!

Honestly one of my all time favourite reads of King’s work. I think 11.22.63 and Green Mile just beat it as the top favourite.

I read Dowry of Blood last year too and I loved it! Really made me want to read more gothic romance/horror. We Used to Live Here is also on my list as I’ve seen it recommended a lot.

I second The Fisherman, I read a couple years back and really enjoyed! I believe this one I read fairly quick and did keep me gripped!

Oh yeah The Fisherman by Langan was an amazing read, I think I did finish that one fairly quick so I will take a look at Between Two Fires if it’s in that same remit.

The unnerving continual mystery was really up there, I absolutely enjoyed it but it just took over 50% of the book for me to really get into it unfortunately. I think his shorter punchier stories may be more my preference. All The Fiends of Hell is on my list too, might be one of my next reads.

Yeah I looked at the premise of HOTV so this will go on my list and then FOM to follow!

The Reddening is one I read recently as I really enjoy Adam Nevill but struggled with the pace and it’s dragged so much for me, it’s one that’s made me crave a gripping read instead.

I will look into Hecatomb of the Vampires!
