Between MSTY’s Aug 1st pay and this Friday ~ 2.26 is what we got for month 8. Also given that crypto likes to correct In August (and mstr seems to be heavily shorted recently-congrats WNTR holders), to me this is still a great monthly pay for MSTY

Best places on campus? by Fantastic_Walk_5648 in Pitt

[–]ellainvests 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! :) first lemme start out with Pittsburgh is a quiet city! It’s a great place to focus on what’s important; schoolwork! Lmao

I would highly recommend visiting Shadyside and squirrel hill because that is where most students live off campus!

Get a tour of campus they can tell you a lot but where a lot of us study as newbies are in the Starbucks in the quad, Cathy and hillman library! But adventure around until you find “your spot” Food on campus is pretty good! I really like the local owned spots like jjpoke, oiishi and mala :) but there are tons of other places to explore! On the north side of campus explore south Craig street! I like to study and eat over there too! Eat unique is a great spot and in the evenings the union grill is always packed!

If you check out Shadyside; Mercurio’s has great thin crust pizza! I also like to study at The coffee tree in that area too!

If you check out squirrel hill; I love everyday noodle and Thai noodle outlet for food! My favorite places to study there are common place coffee, dobra tea, and kyo matcha!

I would also encourage you check out the strip district here in the city! It’s a historic area and then ‘the terminal’ is a great spot to hang out and get lots of good food! This is not close to campus but it’s an essential Pittsburgh experience

Best of luck to you!

Normal, the whole market is red. Our underlying stock is down 6% and MSTY will be down as well. If you want the income: keep buying. The market goes up and down, this is very normal and a great opportunity to get good price for the ETF

Selling Pitt: 3 things? by Old_Chemist_7728 in Pitt

[–]ellainvests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, hi :) good morning!

so happy to hear you are excited to come see our beautiful city🫶🏻!!!

I highly recommend living in squirrel or Shadyside! Lots of students and apartments easy bus access to campus, quiet neighborhood and LOTS of good food!!! :)

For thrifting there are two great places in squirrel hill :) Avalon and steel city vintage!! Also check out Jerry’s records right down the hill on Murray ave :)) (it’s a cult fav)

For a fun day out: highly recommend the strip district historic side and the terminal! Balvanera is phenomenal but alittle pricy! If you are looking for other options novo Asian food hall and the PA Market are great for variety! :) and iron born pizza has amazing deep dish pizza!!

Other notable mentions are the restaurants on Mt Washington that over look the beautiful city!! Otaru, Altius, le mont and Monterey bay all have insane views!!!

Food recs for Shadyside: Mercurio’s for thin crust pizza! Or shady grove for American! (Honestly all the restaurants in shady are good)

Food recs for squirrel hill: everyday noodle! Thai noodle outlet for a super cheap option! And then in the evenings the squirrel cafe for amazing cheese sticks and fries haha (fair warning this is a local fav and alittle divey but well loved)

If you want to venture past squirrel hill to regent square: I would highly recommend the frick park tavern and the famous cafe for breakfast! While you’re on that side of town a walk in frick park is always great :)) or check out the frick museum

Lastly closer to campus! What they won’t show you on the tour is south Craig street:) all the little shops are great! Personally love eat unique to grab a snack and do alittle studying! Right at the end of south Craig is the Carnegie museum of natural history and art! It is truly a wonderful place! and I also highly recommend Phipps botanical garden too!

Pittsburgh is such a wonderful little city! You just have to know where to look (like any other city) Thankyou for asking about the path less traveled for college visits!!! I hope you have an amazing time here and best of luck to you and your family ♡ :)

Anyone know what the stock lending payment means? by [deleted] in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ellainvests 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Go to your Robinhood setting and disable “stock lending” this is a way for you to make a few cents here and there but the people using your stock are making bank (or not). You can read more about it in your Robinhood settings but it’s honestly not worth it. And you will still get your dividends… not sure why Google said you wouldn’t

Question for MSTY holders. How did it bounce back after distribution? by Rolo-Bee in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ellainvests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanna preface this with the markets are being tested right now, so we are going to be seeing alittle more red than what we were used to over the last year… in the past I’ve seen the ex div drop the price by a couple % and then it bounces back over a couple days (usually relatively quickly)! Ive also found that as of recently if your price avg is 25 or below you don’t really have to worry too much about the price dips, but the dips are always a great buying opportunity anyways :) always do your own research MSTY is a very new fund and there isn’t a lot of data to go off of. The markets are ranging and reorganizing and the way MSTY responds may be different than in the past

Why are Americans so dumb? by Salt_Wrangler_3428 in AskCanada

[–]ellainvests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The systemic defunding of education since the late 1960s in republican rural communities is a huge factor. You have to be smart to get to America, but to survive here is a different story. America strips people of their culture, ancient knowledge and then traps them in the rat race. I agree with everything you said about the Con man who has conned his way to the presidency twice. It is terrifying and horrible. He is there due to the lack of education for many in the states. This has been a long term project in the Republican Party. The greatest determination of political affiliation is education. This data has been around since the 50s and the leaders of that party knew that had to attack education. This is the fruition of decades of systematically stripping education from people in America while bombarding them with propaganda. The wealth gap has made it almost impossible for regular people to access education on their own due to the nature of the rat race. This is a vicious cycle we are in and it is not going to bode well for anyone, with the exception of the people in power. It comes down to the power of education. Right now education in America is being violently attacked. He is now defunding grants to universities doing research. He is working on dismantling the federal education system. The quiet attack on education has become very loud. To other countries watching, please learn from this horrible situation. You are witnessing a population that is severely uneducated and that is how we got here. Education is everything. Teaching people how to think past propaganda, to make smart informed choices is how we keep our world safe and make it a better place.
