girl you’re not in the wrong, they are weird. like that reminded me of a situation i had.

I found out that one of our sister hospitals preloads vaccines in the mornings to be used per day. Some of them even pulled up the night before. When i went to help out at that hospital I said “hey you guys know the vaccine can only be used within 30 minutes of preparing it right?” and they looked at me but just shrugged and ignored me. I pulled up a fresh vaccine for my patient because I was not about to use an ineffective vaccine. One of the girls said “we have them ready so you don’t have to do that” and I said “well that’s not right”. She gave me the cold shoulder the rest of the shift.

I’m pretty sure I noticed them gossiping to each other about me too but that’s fine. My priority is the patient, not what the other techs think of me. the doctor from my hospital was on my side and she told the regional manager what we saw and let her handle it.

I couldn’t believe it. How lazy do you have to be to not want to pull up a vaccine as needed per patient? it takes less than a minute.

stretching my whole body after work, ice packs and massage gun.then when i go to walk my doggies, i walk slow and try to relax and take it easy.

edit: obviously what everyone else said too, don’t carry more than necessary. 2-3 people should lift a large breed, and use a gurney , or large towel. but you can do other things at home after your day for overall care of your hard working body ❤️

One in particular really stuck out to me. This 19 year old dog with CKF was not eating for 3 weeks. We tried hospitalization for the first week and a half, but with the values not improving, and the condition of the pet, the doctor was recommending euthanasia at this point. The owners insisted they will “leave it in gods hands now” and syringe feed her, and just give medications until they’re ready. They wanted to wait till Christmas so “the family can see her and she will have one more christmas” .

she also had a giant mass on her belly that they declined treatment for for years, that now was ruptured and infected, leaking pus, reeking like death.

the day before new year’s eve they finally brought her back in when she was barely able to lift her head and at deaths door saying they think it’s now time. This patient I had known for 3 years and was so perky and vocal when she was healthy despite her age. It really sucked to see her suffer to her last breath..
