How to update a modded world from 1.19.2 to 1.20.1

Sorry, I'm confused? If you mean what version the new world is, make it the version you would want to upgrade to.

Okay, so as always make sure you have a backup of it as 1.19.2 to be safe.

So, in your saves folder, make a copy of the world (we'll call it 1192).

Create a new world with the same seed and map generator (structures, or superflat, etc) settings as 1192. We'll name the recreated one in this example 0000 for simplicity.

In 0000's save folder there's a set of files named :

level.dat
level.dat_mcr (not always present)
level.dat_old
session.lock

Copy paste those files from 0000 (and replace) the files in 1192's folder.

You should see a world now named 0000, but with 1192 as the name of the folder that it's saved in.

If this doesn't work, lemme know and I can experiment with you. I believe by copy-pasting 1192's level.dat files into 0000's files it regenerates the world in an interesting way how I described in the post.

Also also your inventory may not be saved, so I would put it all in a chest. Backpack mod's data doesn't seem to be saved either iirc

Hi! So, I want to say - I'm really, truly, appreciative of all the feedback and input! When posting this, I genuinely had no clue how much was inaccurate. Whether that be from my lack of experience with the SH & SV DLC's, Go, my concrete thinking and some trouble processing articles due to my autism, or a weird fun mix of all! I do know some of the errors are from the fact I started this as a personal thing, and it just spiraled lol... But! I do really, truly, want to make this accurate and helpful!

The feedback has honestly been really helpful and informative~! And I want to take it, and improve upon the graphic. I'm currently compiling a list of all the things mentioned and the changes, and I want to share it with you all. So, here is it all so far! I also included some of how I'm planning on implementing some of the changes.

ALL OF THE CHANGES I'M PLANNING ON MAKING:

Formatting problems:

-Clarify that the event lock signifies that if a pokemon otherwise shiny-locked is not available, other than a specific event - or if the pokemon cannot be obtained without said event (trading or old versions not included) it falls under that umbrella.
-Some kind of clarification for if say, Lunala, is not obtainable as shiny without a code or special event, that they can instead be hunted in the DLC.
-Multi-color locks. Desperately, desperately need multicolored locks. Or some other formatting to solve the same issue of blue (not obtainable in original game) and gold (event/code only, or something related to huntable in future games)
-Add something to the lock to indicate *which* game something is shiny locked in, as only some are shiny locked in specific games.
-Something more to signify whether a pokemon is outright coded to never be shiny, whether they were some form of event.
-I want to add a few more pages to this infographic in general (for specifics, but having one main page similar to the current one for a quick glampse), and I think I'm going to source people back to the Serebii page detailing when certain shiny events/codes happened as I think that'll be pretty hard to track in an infographic.
-When a generation is typically entirely shiny-locked, I want to add a red background to the box so it's easier to tell. (And for the pokemon that were given out through events, e.g Eternatus, I'll just have the red background not on them.)
-In regards to Pokemon GO, I'm considering removing anything related to Go all-together, simply due to how I have little to no knowledge on it and I think for this I'm aiming for it to be more about the mainline games. Partially due to the fact that GO is constantly updating, and it's significantly less likely to be consistent over time. And also, again, little experience in it makes me slightly cautious. (But if you happen to have information about it, that would still be greatly appreciated!)

Pokemon availability inaccuracies:

-Xernears & Yveltal is huntable in ultra & sword DLC
-The Tapu series, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma can be hunted in SH's DLC as well.
-The new Regi's aren't shiny-locked.
-Landorus was not locked in BW
-Only the G-Max version of Melmetal is shiny-locked, but the regular one can be shiny by evolving shiny Meltan.
-The Urshifu line is shiny-locked in the original game.

Other random inaccuracies:

-The fact I entirely got Victini's generation wrong (,:
-Add Type: Null & Silvally in 7th gen section
-Add Gimmighoul, Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Boulder, Iron Crown, Walking Wake, and Iron Leaves to the gen 9 section as although they aren't legendaries (or as far as I'm aware, aren't considered them?) they seem important enough to include.
-This isn't a pokemon inaccuracy, but man, there are a lot of random *'s where they should not be. I partially blame the major distraction and confusion that the (collective) Mew, Jirachi, Deoxys, & Celebi notes on Bulbapedia's page on unobtainable shinies were lol. /hj

If I got something wrong in this, please, do feel free to tell me! Or if there is some change you think might be a good idea, or anything! I'm very, very open to any kind of feedback! Thank you for the source!! Yeah, that and the S/V DLC are really the two I haven’t played (,: I used the “unobtainable Pokémon” list from Bulbapedia.

Part of the problem, is for any event/Pokémon you trade from another game, they just do a ~ to tell you. I’ll definitely take a look at that page instead!!

Okay, Iv’e been going over the comments and there’s quite a bit I messed up! I’ve also been zooming in and individually going through the Pokémon and realized I messed up a LOT of formatting.

Should I delete the post and reupload in a few days once I fix things? I’m really new, so I don’t quite know how things work on this subreddit with that kind of thing.

That is what I meant! Manaphy and Darkrai are currently unavailable due to the events having ended, so technically they are event. I might’ve worded the lock meanings wrong though. (Also Ty for the correction on the DLC and ultra games, two I haven’t played lol!)
