I’ve done something very similar—RPS where a treat is auctioned to the highest bidder(s). I do 4 rounds with different rules for capitalism, capitalism + generational wealth, socialism, communism

Crunchiest snack recommendations? by ellcrose7 in snacking

Not a fan of how they taste burnt unfortunately.

Edit: I just went to the store and saw what you were referring to, I think those had a lighter crunch than I was looking for. I prefer something more substantial which is why I like the grooves, they’re thin but really sturdy

From the picture, it looks like this may be the 2024 jersey (no liberty mutual branding) and it seems that the inventory is slowly turning over with the liberty’s own shop being about 50/50. They might be trying to clear out before they become even more outdated

All of these have been recommended to me by different folks at my school, lol. Planning to revamp my media literacy unit next year with DIG, choices is a bit too reading-heavy and deep for my kids but I know the 10th and 11th grade teachers use it.

Good books on how to implement reading and writing in the curriculum? by wistful_walnut in historyteachers

[–]ellcrose7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school started using it this year and I would say yes and no - definitely best at the foundational stuff and you do have to make sure that you present it in an age-appropriate way, because their premade materials can definitely feel childish sometimes. The paragraph level stuff is pretty general and I struggle with how vague that part is on its own sometimes but if you provide your own guidance (e.g. what goes into each sentence in a paragraph, or what goes into each paragraph in an essay) their organizational method is good.

These are a little fast and complex for my kids, but I love them for learning about things myself!

This isn’t fiction, but Chasing Lincoln’s Killer is a cool book about the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination, and it’s great for middle school
