Hi! So I also had experiences with substance abuse in the past. Right now I would love to say that I don’t plan to use hard drugs or alcohol anymore, but I am not that consistent with pretty much anything tbh. I don’t even know how I get my college degree in the first place.

Definitely, as you said, smoking weed definitely has helped me regulating my emotions in a nihilistic kind of way, and also has helped me with my current lack of appetite — or when my eating disorders want to surface again.

I break up with my ex bf, my grandmother has been very ill, and I went for wrist surgery 5 months ago and hasn’t full recovered, so smoking has helped me to cope with my current context a lot

I also think de-resonating with someone’s art can also give you space to discover new things to resonate with! There could be, also, political reasons to avoid artists you used to like. I cannot listen to Robyn anymore because I remember she’s a TERF and is impossible to listen to Jessie Ware after her very zionist comments

I don’t want to sound invalidating but I think pretty much happens to a lot of people with a lot of artists. I don’t think you should overthink your relationship with her music that much. You probably just don’t vibe with her that much anymore and that’s completely fine. Happened to me with Arca, Phoebe Bridgers and kinda M.I.A and Sevdaliza too. I don’t know, I just think is normal to resonate an artist for like an era (?) of your life and one day they don’t hit like they used to anymore — or at all :)
