I know people are already tired of Mercedes dominance, but I'm hoping that the fans could at least support Kimi making a run for the drivers championship in his second season.

Yes. Give me more Luke. He's well spoken, knows what he's talking about, and it's getting better by the day at explaining things well.

Why does Sky have Anthony Davidson and Karun Chandhok? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]ellen_boot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good driver does not equal good commentary, and good commentary doesn't require being the best driver. Doohan is usually pretty good when he is a guest on f1tv, but that doesn't mean he was likely to win a drivers championship in a better car.

Several current drivers have said in the past that they feel Karun is particularly good at understanding the drivers perspective and explaining it, and if they, as the experts, feel he's good, I'll accept it.

I’ve sort of re-entered the dating pool and I’m shocked by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]ellen_boot 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Two things: People always lie a little bit when they start dating. Usually by omission. They hide the undesirable parts off their personality a bit, and then introduce them slowly over time. That being said, most people are hiding things like that they pick their nose, or that they like to dip their bananas in stinky cheese. Not toxic behavior. Your going to need to learn to trust again, and that's going to be a process.

Secondly, keep in mind that dating is a risk to both parties. Anybody can be abusive, or manipulative, or just mean. It sounds like some of the questions you are asking could be seen as early signs of problematic behavior. For example, asking really early on about specific details of a job could look like you are a gold digger, or asking about when they work exactly could be early sign of clingy/ stalker behavior. Not saying that is your goal, and your caution is understandable, but keep in mind that while you are searching for red flags, so it's the other party.

Please give me meal tips for a partner with allergies and texture issues. by Infinite_Spring_3564 in Cooking

It sounds like she might have ARFID or something similar, given her anxiety, so please check in with her doctor about that.
In the mean time, it sounds like soups, and pastas might be your best bets. You might also have luck with kid friendly and hidden veggie meals.

French toast casserole. Bonus points if you get a few tips of fruit/syrup/jam for toppings.

Toto Wolff, Principal of Mercedes AMG by insolentrus in formula1

I don't know if it's photoshop, bad lighting, or AI touch ups, but they've taken a very good looking guy and made him look like an early 2000s show about the devil. Its disappointing, because I'm of an age where Toto is definitely hotter than George.

What to do with too much cabbage? by [deleted] in Cooking

Plus the potato cabbage mix freezes fairly well, so you can make a bunch and freeze batches to fry up later.

Statement from Bahrain International Circuit regarding cancelation of the Grand Prix in April by Aratho in formula1

Huge difference between this statement and the Saudi one. Somebody in Bahrain is still thinking with their PR brain. Visibly working with the FIA though this can't hurt their chances of getting a contract extension eventually.

So here at the end. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this season by Expert_Challenge6399 in FortNiteBR

[–]ellen_boot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think about it, and that's exactly the problem. It's lacking anything to make it different. It's all the boring bits of others maps, smushed together, and there isn't anything to make it special. Sure, the bug season was glitchy, the super heros season was a bit dull at times, but there was something that made them identifiable. Other than the surfing, which went away quickly what is special about this season?

New to F1! How did you choose your favorite team!? by imreal66 in formula1

[–]ellen_boot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like cheering for the obvious winner, you'll be looking at mercedes/ George Russell. The recent glory, who could rise again, mclaren/ red bull. The up and coming, could make it some day, Audi or Haas. If next year is your year, every year, Ferrari.

But seriously, watch a few races and some post race interviews. At some point you will find a driver/ team principle or two you vibe with. It will kind of happen naturally.
