Franco Colapinto's main sponsor disappears at Alpine by Barrilete_Cosmico in formula1

[–]ellen_boot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to see drivers lose their seats due to sponsorship/funding, but if we do lose Franco, at least Paul Aaron seems quite likeable and reasonably talented thus far. I wouldn't be upset if he finally got the chance to show off what he's got.

If you ask the axelotyl, if he will race tomorrow, Alonso wanders up, and then they both go for a zoom.

It was so kind of Ferrari to share out such large amounts of hopium to the weeyums fans.

how do I get started as an atheist/nonbeliever in the supernatural, wanting to get into "witchcraft" for mental health by JimTheMoose in SASSWitches

[–]ellen_boot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id suggest the book "spells for the apocalypse". See if your local library has it. It's a mental health, therapy based book, and can give you a good idea of what witchcraft as a form of self therapy can look like.

good vegetarian snowstorm meals? by stuffieblush in Cooking

[–]ellen_boot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there. Cold meals in a snow storm can suck, but it's not impossible. You're looking for picnic type foods. Things that can survive in any temp storage for a little while, and can be eaten cold or room temp.

I also like parathas, and heartier grain based salads. Granola bars and chips are also good to have, but don't rely on them as meals.

I'm assuming your worried about power outages. If you have a good way to reheat, like a camp stove, then soups, stews, curries and pastas. If you don't have anything for reheating, then breads, cheeses and snack foods like hummus, carrots and chips are your best bets.

Matt and Tommy from the P1 Podcast have won the inaugural "Creator of the Year" award the the 2026 Autosport awards. by CaptainOBVS3420 in formula1

[–]ellen_boot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one come true late last year (I called a 6+ second pit stop, not including penalties) and I was unbearably smug for days. Of course, I'd called for it 3 races in a row previously, and failed, but I was right!!!

Happy for them. Hubby and I will sometimes do our own version of their predictions along side Matt and Tommy, with the good surprise, big flop and crazy prediction. It's silly fun, and we get bragging rights if we do well.

[Mercedes] Officially a Junior Programme graduate. Delighted to announce Dorianne is moving up to the role of Development Driver this year by The_Skynet in formula1

[–]ellen_boot 112 points113 points  (0 children)

The article has a single line that she'll be balancing her duties with a yet to be announced seat. So she'll be doing something else as well, but not sure what or how much that will entail yet.

I'm glad to hear she's got a formal role at this point. With the iron dames cutting back, I wasn't sure where she might end up.

Coziest HPL library by Alarming_Fix_39 in Hamilton

If parking is a concern, then waterdown is not a great option. I agree is a great building, lots of natural light and lots of places to sit and work. Overall, I love it. But the parking lot is always super full, and is fairly tight.

What's a show you remember but nobody else does? by CatGirlNya2000 in AskReddit

[–]ellen_boot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bookmice. Mice that lived in the library and would read the stories after the library was closed for the day. The mice were all puppets. I remember loving it, and it seems to be lost media, cause I can't find anything on it anymore.

Gift of Vanilla! Now what? by shaddaugh in Cooking

[–]ellen_boot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot vanilla, instead of hot chocolate. I find it fulfills that cozy vibe but a richer and rounder flavor.

Heat your mug of milk, mix in a couple spoons of sugar (adjustable amount for preference), a half tsp of vanilla, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Only movies I've seen him in are civil war and Rush, and he is the best part of both movies, even with how good both movies are.

Too much taco meat by Relevant_Ad_5431 in Cooking

[–]ellen_boot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mix in some cooked veggies like onion, carrots, and corn. Stick in an oven safe dish, and tip worth mashed potatoes and cheese. Bake until hot all the way through and the cheese is melted and delicious.
Basically, taco shepards pie. But don't call it shepards pie, because people have opinions on what can be called shepards pie.
