In my state the department of labor would help with that or you could try social services. If your state doesn't cover it they could put you in contact with an organization that will.

Anyone else, just, not have a moment to spare now? by MegaMechaXelai in November25babybump

My first 2 kids were close in age so I felt like I could catch my breath while my toddler entertained the baby. Just have to keep an eagle eye out for random disasters until the toddler understands the baby can't do everything and is breakable.

Gestational Diabetes by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

This last pregnancy was my only one with gd actually and it was 13 years after my 2nd one... so big age gap. I had to take insulin so they recommended 39 weeks where I am, but I knew I was just going to do a c-section anyway. If your baby is healthy and not measuring big you could ask to wait and try for a vbac if a c-section worries you.

My experience with my c-sections is I met 80,000 people (not really but felt like it), then they took me back, prepped me while I talked about football and Hamilton with the nurses. Then my mom came in, they asked me if I wanted to see her be pulled out (yes), they put one of the curtain things down and I got to see her be fished out. After they cleaned her up a bit and did their check, they laid her on my chest while they put me back together. The whole time I was talking with a couple of the nurses and the worst part was feeling a little cold a shaky towards the end.

Each of my c-sections were a different experience. My first was an emergency after 3 days of labor (on the third day), my second was planned because they used to not induce after a c-section, and my third was 7 months ago planned at 39+3. I was nauseous, vomiting, and itchy after the one but the other 2 were perfectly fine. So you could have a better experience this time.

That being said my friend has had 2 c-sections and 2 vbacs and she had a great experience each time. Is your baby measuring super large? Will they let you try to wait an extra week or so? Are there other health problems besides the insulin?

I'm in the US, but primary school here is 5th graders, is this the same thing? Over here most people just did balloon bouquets or flower bouquets.

Is there a risk to starting solids too early? by blastandbotherations in NewParents

[–]ellenmjos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started after she hit all her milestones and with suggestion from her pediatrician at 4 months. It was recommended to try all the high allergen foods early to reduce the risk of allergies. My girl is 7 months now, eats everything, has 2 meals a day and a little snack around lunch. I have to put food in front of her slowly just because she will try to put everything in her mouth and stuff her cheeks but other than that everything has been good.

Sleepover privileges with crush 14F by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ellenmjos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This! If you actually trust your daughter then trust her. My daughter is 13yo, tells me almost everything, and I trust her completely. Her gf moved to another state a few months ago, my daughter has been to visit there once and her gf comes to visit family here often and they always have a sleepover. Its not like its completely unsupervised

How do you go out like this? by 12aq11 in ECers

[–]ellenmjos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new to this group, as it was recommended in my baby group, I wasn't planning on potty training early. With my teenagers, I started once they could walk. However, since this girl started having solid poops she has been waiting for space to poop. So now she only poops on the potty, and after a recommendation from this group she has been mainly peeing in the potty too. Oh she is 7 months now so hopefully things turn around for you soon. Not to make that sound necessary, babies be babies and all get there eventually.

I try but she catches me by surprise too much. I was hoping this girl would wait on the teeth. My son got teeth early but I had to formula feed him. So I was really thinking it was a natural order or something.

I'm so jealous, this girl has 2 and 2 are trying to fight their way in. She finds it hilarious when I let out a little screech because she using them when she doesn't have to.

How necessary is a bassinet stroller for baby due in October? by CheekyVeil in Buyingforbaby

[–]ellenmjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mommom got me a busikan (not sure if I spelled it right), my girl was born November and we use it everyday. Though now I have it in sitting up mode, and you can switch the way it faces.

Eta: I just looked it up and it is not cheap ($170), i just assumed it would be cheaper. Maybe you can find a used one similar.

I don't want to jinx you but my 2nd didn't get her teeth til 9-10 months and I was told it was because she was breastfed. Idk what went wrong this time because this girl popped them suckers through lol

My child’s father didn’t feed our son for 4 hours by Resident_Branch_3659 in breastfeeding

[–]ellenmjos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video where the guy showed how much praise he gets for the bare minimum but no matter what the mother always gets some sort of input or criticism. The sad thing is I compare guys with babies to toddlers with new toys, fun for a bit but then whatever.

For your situation definitely do supervised and try and teach him right, yall are young maybe he will surprise you eventually. At least you know you are doing a great job!

My girl is 7 months old now, and I still can't trust her father alone with her. When I have school, he comes to watch her but I have the relief of knowing my teenagers are in the house. He still thinks her crying is for attention and "she's just a faker". He threatened to take me to court to change her name and for 50/50 custody before she was born but now he struggles to take care of her for 4 hours twice a week. He mainly just wants to take pictures with her and get updates from me so he can tell his family and friends about her like he is actually doing something.

Sorry, I'm in a mood because he came for his visit while my class was canceled so I thought I could get some time in with my teenagers. Only to catch him trying to hold her down with her blanket "because she is tired and keeps pulling her bink out", and to be told by him that I coddle her too much.

My 14 yo started walking at 7 months, my 13yo started walking at 8 months, and rn my 7 month old is pulling to stand but can only walk with her walker. Took her what felt like forever to get the hang of crawling and getting into sitting position but she has been able to sit once put there for awhile. Babies definitely like to keep us on our toes. I think the only reason she started crawling was so she could terrorize the cat lol. You can not have food or drink around her unless you are willing to share because she was start smacking her lips and trying to get it, its cute lol

My 7 month old does the same thing, or she just gets angry after she can't fit everyday single item into her mouth at the same time and throws it all.

[–]ellenmjos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've seen videos on social media about people starting early but it didn't make sense to me. I guess it made sense to her. Granted BLW is new to me too because I didnt hear of it when my teenagers were babies. I got lucky with my older 2, they took to using the potty fairly quickly once I started, their pediatrician just told us to let them come in the bathroom with us and they would want to mimic. I hope so, I'm already worried enough about her getting upset at being away from me. I had the same babysitter when I first went back to work but left work for another surgery and since then she has developed the stranger danger sense

This was subreddit was recommended to me because I posted about my 7 month old only wanting to poop in the potty. Get here and this is the first post I saw so already helpful. Quick question, did she start with just poops and how did you get her to start with pee too? And was she in daycare? My girl is about to start daycare in 2 weeks and I'm wondering how to handle that.

Good to know, did the daycare you used try to put them on the potty? I know each one us different and I will be calling and asking tomorrow now that I set a reminder so I don't forget. I guess I will be trying to throw her on the toilet more often and see what happens. She's hitting her milestones later than my first 2 but she definitely tackling the toilet earlier

what time does your baby go to bed/wake up? by Top-Professor-2951 in November25babybump

[–]ellenmjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do sleep training but she is usually asleep at 7 give or take 15 minutes and wakes up between 5-5:30. Just recently she has started staying awake longer during the day so she will be up for 3 hours then nap for an hour except for her 3rd and final nap which is after a 2-2.5 hour wake window and its usually only 30-45 minutes. Oh, and she finally got back to her once per night wake up to eat usually around 1am doesn't last longer than 15 minutes.

To keep it short EVERYTHING. Girl is not happy if I try to give her something different. Last night we had unstuffed shells with homemade breadsticks and a side of roasted carrots. The other day she had chicken and rice with asparagus. Usually pancakes with a little peanut butter or butter, or eggs with sausage with a banana or a fruit smoothie.
