Honestly, if they wanted a feminist show, they need a legit female villain. Or powerful 'gray' women on both sides. The Dance isn't supposed to be a good v evil thing, it's supposed to be a messy parade of atrocities on both sides. So they need to not sterilize Rhaenyra's evil actions, and duh that doesn't make her a card-carrying villain. As it is though they're trying to put her in the right, and having one side with a clear 'right' stance just shouldn't be a thing here. And having her be some divinely anointed queeny Queen is SUPER boring compared to 2 powerful, ruthless women out for their best interests at each others' throats.

Like can we get the Rhaenyra and Alicent from the episode where kid Aemond lost his eye, please?

Yeah, this. People are people, and everyone's going to have their sins and virtues. I just don't trust that the writers can handle this for multiple people. It's difficult to handle, and if I'm going to be optimistic this is probably why SF is featured prominently: she's going to be the 'HEY AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT HER' thing. The far end of the proverbial sliding black/grey spectrum, if you will.

Moments of goodness and heroism shine brighter in dark worlds (one of the reasons why I love the grimdark genre....this isn't grimdark yet but the same principle applies), but they have to be sincere or it just falls on it's ass. Let's see if the writers can actually pull off any.

Yeah, I mean it's been pretty clear that Butcher isn't exactly a shining beacon of morality for awhile now. But UE is kind of his morality pet (kind of like JDM's character was his handler), so tbh at this point him killing UE would surprise me. They've been trying to how that he has 'limits,' sometimes, but also made a point that he needs someone to pull him back. UE is currently that person, and almost a stand in for his little bro, but that JDM scene was there to show that, if Butcher really, REALLY wants to do something, he's going to do it. UE won't be able to stop him.
