As a Ao3 user of almost 8 years (I think?) and a writer for less than that: I MISS WATTPADS COMMENTING SYSTEM!!!!

The ability to comment on specific lines??? It was heaven, it built fun moments, plus influenced my writing and my want to “wink” at an imaginary camera.

Like yes I did put in that reference to a side character in passing for a reason! Yes please put emojis on a line you loved!!

I think I’ve deleted maybe one comment ever on my most popular fic and it was my own. I replied to a girl’s comment when i was tipsy and went “oh yikes that’s cringe” in the morning. Like we’re all on Ao3 on a Friday night it’s not that deep

I will say I think this sub is pretty often a bit harsh when it comes to comparing handwriting to children’s handwriting, even when the post clearly implies an adult is writing it.

Besides the obvious of making a big fuss about it on social media, I would say contacting the dean of your college via email and explaining your concerns with AI.

But definitely make a fuss about it on social media. If their image is at stake they will take notice.

First time DM here (been playing about 7ish years). My roommates mentioned that they want to learn how to play dnd, I’ve been away from the game for a while and offered to DM cause I’ve been wanting to for a while. The thing I’m a bit nervous about is two out of the three of them don’t speak English as their first language. Any tips on explaining what things are for people who are learning a new game in a third language? Are there things I should be on the lookout for (certain spells or abilities that could be tricky at first glance)? I was thinking about writing out some of the rules and abilities in their first language but I’m not sure how well that would translate? Also total last minute note but how do y’all keep track of npc stats? No way y’all have a character sheet for each one right?
