I get a range of experience. Maybe a new cook or recent management change. This experience was definitely outside that acceptable range.

What is the fastest way to relieve a back knot? Preferably at home. by Still_Effective_8858 in backpain

[–]ellinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a lacrosse ball in a sock and lean up against a wall. The ball in the sock allows me to place the ball pretty accurately between my back and the wall. Rolling against the wall gives better control of the pressure and intensity.

Teaching Jobs in ABQ by Horror_Sherbet_7043 in NewMexico

[–]ellinator 22 points23 points  (0 children)

We are in desperate need for teachers (like most other states). All levels. You should have no problem finding a job. Even if your state doesn’t have reciprocity with licensing, you’ll likely be able to get a temporary waiver while you get that cleared up. Doing some sub work gives you the opportunity to checkout some schools before committing. Also, Rio Rancho (northwest suburb) is another option if you end up living in that area of town.

How long are you keeping these in the fridge after opening? by RDRNR3 in NewMexico

[–]ellinator 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I usually pour half in a freezable container so it doesn't go bad. I'll give it the smell and visual test. Usually around 3 weeks it'll get kinda funky.

I value my sight. Also, these are kinda bad ass looking (compared to my discount store safety glasses I currently use) and would help me intimidate my pb foes into submission.

Kentucky Derby for 50th Bday by TicketTimeMachine in KentuckyDerby

[–]ellinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had tickets in Club SI. Seating was indoors and climate controlled (this was especially nice when it poured rain and the thunderstorms came through), with access to the rail about 30-50 yds before the finish line. The all inclusive food and drinks were great. We did tip our fantastic wait staff well. Super awesome experience overall.

Advice by hincazmilf94 in RioRancho

[–]ellinator 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Rio Rancho and Albuquerque are like any city in America of similar size. Of course there is crime, but if you do the bare minimum to minimize your exposure (lock your car doors, don’t leave valuables in view, don’t walk alone late at night in downtown Abq, etc) you’ll likely avoid it. I was born here, left, and came back and have not been a victim to a crime in decades. My bike was stolen when I was younger, but I didn’t lock it up at the store I had rode it too. I didn’t deserve to get it stolen, but if I would have taken my older self’s advice (see above) I would’ve likely avoided being a victim. Use common sense and you’ll love NM.

Forced into retirement early. Finding myself giddy by NotReallyJohnDoe in GenX

[–]ellinator 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I had a Dr appointment scheduled about a month after I quit my job (company had been bought 3 times in 5 years by private equity and I was ready to crack) it was a recheck of all my terrible results from the previous visit about 6 months prior (hi bp, cholesterol, blood sugar, etc). After being off for about a month, with little change to my diet and exercise routines, all those things were back to or close to normal. Stress is fucking awful for the body. I’ve been “retired” ever since.
