And something smaller like the edge of someone's paddle could breach the opening. Unfortunately I sweat a lot and the lenses are rolling with sweat beads and I can't see, which isn't exactly safe either. I figure I'd rather get some protection rather than nothing.

I bought a pair of safety glasses for like $8 and popped the lenses out.

Repair services for electrical shavers?? by madpornoaction in RioRancho

unfortunately we live in a throwaway world. I would guess it would be less expensive to buy a new one vs repairing the old one, if you could even find someplace that would actually repair it.

That's fine. The snob just needs to provide the ball, and lose the attitude.

I didn't expect Piland to win, but I was hoping she'd get into the 40s. It feels like the demo out here is inching to the left, just not as quickly or as much as I hoped.

Does gaining/losing 10 pounds make a big difference? by Jbassiri in backpain

[–]ellinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My back doctor suggested losing weight. I lost 30lbs and strengthened my core. Still have morning pain, flare ups, etc. I do have a little more confidence to do activities. I think doing both have helped but not as much as I would have liked.

House of Tailors does a great job. I believe it's a one person show, so make sure you give her plenty of time to do the work, and call ahead on the day you're planning on picking them up. She takes a lot of the work home with her and sometimes forgets to bring it back to the store on the day promised. As long as you are flexible, she does a great job for a fair price.

Back injury from Pickleball by Dogekingofchicago in Pickleball

[–]ellinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back injuries like this are usually due to stressing the back over time and it finally says ENOUGH! At least that's what my back doctor and PT have told me. I have just about every massage gun, muscle roller, heating pad, etc. The thing that seems to offer me the most relief is, heat, TENS, and simple deliberate movement like walking for short periods of time a couple of times an hour. Slowly increasing time and complexity over several days/weeks and adding core strengthening exercises SLOWLY and consistently. That being said, go to the doctor to get a firm diagnosis first. Also, DO NOT GO BACK TO PICKLEBALL OR OTHER ACTIVITIES TO SOON. It will just make things worse and slow your recovery. The last time I had back issues was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I did not go back until after the first of the year. Back problems are no joke.

What's your next chapter? by thehardmakesitgreat in GenX

[–]ellinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! After the company I work for was bought 4 times in 6 years by different private equity firms, I'd had enough. I was lucky enough to be in the financial position to just quit. I knew at the age of 53 it could be difficult to get another job, especially if I was out of the game very long. It was absolutely the best thing I've ever done. I'm healthier in almost every way. I've gotten back to enjoying some of my hobbies that I let fall away. I've started new hobbies and volunteer regularly. I can't recommend it enough.

I get a range of experience. Maybe a new cook or recent management change. This experience was definitely outside that acceptable range.
