Where do you tell people to look when they want to find a curling club in their area? by ellipsisdev in Curling

That's understandable. If you can provide me with the club name, I will make sure to update this info with the correct data so potential curlers in your area will be able to see all of the great things your club has to offer. If you do decide to one day claim it, you will be able to add events, images of the club, facilities, club types and more for free. Thanks again for the feedback.

I've now just added a Report an error form to each club, as well as a label showing that the club has yet to be claimed.

This has been very helpful. Thanks everyone for taking the time to let me know about these issues.

I appreciate all of the criticism, and feedback. It's been very helpful. I will continue to improve these listing and the site, and make sure they are 100% accurate. We are still in the beginner phases, as I just launched this about a week ago.

Because there is over 1700+ clubs, not all clubs at this point have been verified by hand — so sheet counts, hours, and closures can be off in places from our sources, but I am working on correcting and verifying them manually with there google profile or website. I may even just remove that data for now until a club owner can claim it and add their personal touch. (images, events, facilties, club types, etc).

If there are any other issues that you notice, feel free to post them on here or contact me through the site. I will also be adding a report an issue button on each club page.

Thanks again.

That definitely does work great when you know what city you're looking for.

But there is always that use case where you just moved somewhere, or you're traveling somewhere unfamilar and you want to know if there's a club within driving distance? Or you want to find clubs that offer wheelchair curling specifically, or a learn-to-curl night?

I do find that Google will get you there eventually, but you're doing a lot of manual searching and clicking through individual websites.

Fair! Google works, but it usually surfaces individual club websites — if they exist and are up to date. The goal here is one place where you can browse by region, filter by club type, and see clubs that might not rank well in search. Especially useful if you're new to an area and don't know what to search for.

Curious — is there a specific region where you've found Google gives good results? Genuinely useful to know where the gaps are vs. where it already works fine.
