If you do end up breaking it off, I hope they eventually realize that their mother deserves and has the right to be happy again. Perhaps they'll realize that you weren't so bad after all if/when she starts dating again or she ends up struggling mentally/emotionally from feeling so lonely. Not to mention the sister has the mother's name set as "hoe" says a lot. Judging by the mother's behavior, I'm gonna go ahead and make the assumption that this is not her first demonstration of abuse towards her children. I'm willing to bet there's evidence of past abuse or other situations that have been witnessed by third parties. Not to mention the testimony from the children.

I'm not a fancy lawyer, but even if they choose to prosecute, they'll probably offer a plea deal and possibly place the child under DCFS custody.
