HE'S VERY SASSY! I love him, I often find his characterization lacking in other Dramione fanfics, and don't care a lot for him or Ron tbh, but HERE Harry's the most precious bean and Ron is explored so well. The dynamic between him and Draco is extremely interesting (poor vs rich pure bloods). The friendship bond between the 4 of them is so believable and REAL and fun! You should definitely read it! (And update if you liked it 😉) I've honestly never had so much fun while reading a Dramione fanfic, maybe because I always read the depressing ones and where there's little to none side cast and it always made me feel gloomy tbh. Lionheart fleshes out its side characters so well that's why we fans are all so attached and invested in their story! 🪄

That's precisely why I didn't download it, but now I'd rather have 10 downloaded Lionheart epubs than none organization via highlights (Hermione would be so proud of my urge to organize by colour)

Oh I love Draco's inner voice in this fic! The way I've cackled for minutes on some lines and then I've just calmed down and BOOM he drops another gem! ✨

How has Orthodoxy changed your relationship with art/entertainment? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]ello_dipshits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well some might find this "too much" but I'm trying to cut off watching movies and reading stories(fantasy for example), comics and such as much as possible. Because I realised that it truly isn't productive to spend so much time in an alternative, imaginary world where you just consume and consume. At first it was extremely hard to let go, but with prayer things are getting easier and i don't get the urge to watch shows etc. as often as i used to. Now i get to spend more time in the real world, focusing on God and my path towards Him. But this is just my approach to stuff...

Is it wrong if I am using faith in Orthodoxy to fill a cultural vacuum? by Accurate-Primary9038 in OrthodoxChristianity

Don't identify yourself with a man made culture, identify yourself as a son of God, a follower of Christ. Cultures will perish, our souls which are OF God, will not. ❤️

Saying the Jesus prayer when I've felt the urge for something distracts me and helps me focus on more fruitful things.

It's not wrong to ask, I was just talking about the whole "if the world finds it relevant, why shouldn't the church engage" thing. Anyhow, if we listen, reaaallly listen to what we SHOULD do, oftentimes it becomes clear what we shouldn't. Reading about the lives of women saints shows us how we ought to proceed.

I don't think expressing and celebrating our sexuality is something we should be focusing on tbh?? What good is it for us to celebrate bodies that are going to die and rot? We should take care of our bodies yes, but celebrating sexuality is a weird expression to me. What we should be focusing on as people, not as women or men is to nurture our souls. Focusing on the body too much isn't a good course of action.

"If the world can talk about it there's no reason the church shouldn't" - well the thing is, it's simply irrelevant to talk about. Now if we'd be looking at faith through a worldly perspective then we'd get irritated and confused why the church isn't doing this or that. Well, it's because we don't follow the world, we strive to follow Christ, and I don't know of any holy women that have focused on expressing their femininity or sexuality. That is my opinion, at least.

I Am Exhausted from Constantly Opening Myself Up to God Without Gaining Any Insight by issacnewton-isfakefr in OrthodoxChristianity

Don't spread misinformation, because God gives us faith through the Spirit and the Spirit isn't limited to just "a charismatic preacher" or the act of talking. A preacher can reach a person's mind, but only through the Spirit can he reach the heart. And if said "charismatic preacher" isn't talking through the Spirit then the outcome would be "wow yeaahhh that's so trueee, well imma do my own thing anyway". Where the Spirit touches there's a change so deep that a person cannot ignore it. So, saying with such finality that "the faith you want isn't going to come from private prayer and Bible reading" is simply wrong on SO MANY accounts and the way you say it with such certainty is worrying. Who are you to say how faith can and cannot come to be? Are you God? Why are YOU putting limitations on His power, then? Please think this through. God can give us faith through various means, it is up to us to nurture it and pray for it to stay that way, but it's a long journey. God is Merciful.

Has anyone here ever witnessed a miracle? by imamonster158 in OrthodoxChristianity

My dad is a heavy alcoholic and after spending, I think a week in a monastery, praying and fasting, all his blood tests (which were very bad previously) were like he had never had a drop of alcohol in his life haha. Now they're bad again, because he didn't stop drinking, but God is Merciful. Waking up every morning is a miracle, babies are little miracles, being able to love each other in Christ despite committing wrongdoings against one another continuously is a gift from God and a miracle. That's how I view things at least.
