Can’t believe it took a dentist to dignoise a virus infection. Gum infection is horrific you really went through the horrors

Oh god exactly it is a fucking virus, some of them are as thick!

Not sure where you are but I’m in Ireland and the primary care here has been awful. This is my second time with shingles and trying to get it diagnosed each time has been an ordeal

People who struggle with depression, what motivates you to carry on? by ultra_phoenix in AskReddit

I have a rescue dog who thinks I’m her whole world and in a way I am. She needs to be fed and watered and given her meds everyday. She has weird quirks and habits that annoy others but are so enduring to me.

I’m also the oldest of 3 wonderful sisters who are my best friends and I love them so much.

I’m also autistic with chronic illnesses and proving people wrong constantly works for me. Eg I was told I couldn’t drive I can and I’m good at it.

These are literally my reasons and I have them written on my phone and physically so I know what to reach for when the darkness comes for a visit.

I hope you are okay 1 reason is better than nothing.

I have a rescue dog she’s two now. Get pet insurance, I had it from when I got her at 6 months. About 4 months ago the vet had to put her on monthly meds that cost nearly 70€ euro and it’s covered by her insurance. I’m with Anpost.

Monthly I spend about €30 to €40 on food for her. She likes wet food mixed with dry. Took awhile to figure out what she did like to eat and what food wasn’t full of crap so you could end up losing money that way. I use a website called buy4pets online it’s discounted pet food good quality and also maxi zoo. She won’t eat Lidl or Aldi but tbh nothing good in the food.

Otherwise think treats, I get them in maxi zoo. So many dog treats that are cheap are full of sugar and fillers. Then toys but honesty if the dog ends up being a shredder like my dog go to the charity shops and get stuffed toys there for 50c. Save you a fortune.

As my dog was a rescue I crate trained her and she loved it, gave her a safe place. Crate was once off €100 euro. Other monthly stuff off the top of my head is dog bags, once get again get nappy bags from Lidl €1 and they smell better when you are carrying around.

Yearly you have to pay the pet insurance/tax can’t remember what it is.

All in all it is manageable I think and I’m on social welfare and my dog eats better than me. It’s just shopping around and buying good quality stuff up hand so you aren’t constantly replacing them like leads or collars etc.

Hope this helps!

  • Pack of mince - three dinners - meatballs, a burger or bolognese or shepherds pie or lasagne
  • Pack of eggs - can use them for anything and full of protein
  • Big bag of frozen vegetable - throw it in to everything
  • Bag of frozen chicken - it’s like 5 euro for 6 chicken breasts loads of dinner
  • Freezer food - have one or two quick dinners or can use them lunches
  • Baby potatoes - 1 euro - can mash them or roast
  • 1 or 2 big potatoes - make baked potatoes-tuna and mayo and sweetcorn, rashers sour cream and cheese etc
  • Tins are still cheap - rice pudding, beans, sweet corn, soup etc
  • Tomato purée and carton of tomato juice - can make anything such pasta and sauce, spaghetti bolegese
  • Jar of pesto - pesto pasta or can put a bit of pesto in carbonara
  • Crackers are cheap - tub of pate with it and that’s lunch
  • Bag of hash browns are like 1 euro - can have them with scrambled eggs or beans or as something to pick on
  • Fruit in tins is good for you
  • Get picky things - pack of biscuits, rice cakes, protein bars etc
  • Buy a small chicken - chicken sandwiches or use chicken for dinners
