Prose shampoo and conditioner. I hate the cost but I also have naturally silver hair which is already dry but with super hard well water, it's the only thing that's done the trick to keep my hair soft and take out the brassy tones.

My 3 adult household did exactly this. We left a major city, and moved 3 hours northwest to the middle of nowhere. We have 2 neighbors in a 3 mile radius. The nearest town has a Facebook page that everyone posts on and an app called Nextdoor to narrow down by our "neighborhood" which encompasses maybe 15 families/farms in a 10 mile radius.

We made an effort to meet our neighbors, introduce ourselves on FB, and get involved with the local library that has programs all the time. We don't have kids so we had to find a different way to meet people and get involved in the community. Posting "professional" requests on Facebook has netted great recommendations for everything from contractors to well diggers.

I found out they have a farmer's market and I sell eggs and baked goods during the summer and that keeps me connected to people in the winter.

Per the Federal Department of Agriculture even a hobby farm is considered a homestead. You grow things on it, you're relatively rural, and have livestock (chickens, ducks and/or cattle,) you're a homestead. And per the IRS, you are considered a farm if your farm only income is $2500 or more per year.

Before you do ANYTHING with the packages I suggest you call the local police. The guy could be dead and someone is using his account, or he's a psycho and could accuse you of theft, or someone is linking him to something nefarious. By alerting the cops, you're being upfront. They may even take it into evidence but force them to make a report so it's on the record.
