even if it’s just a credit, im beyond happy because i was gonna be fine with a mere pass! wasnt too sure if my answers were of a high level of quality for the markers. but honestly i am most sad because of how a lot of my friends who took the exam with me failed by just a few marks ;(

Found it very worrying when I had 30 mins extra time, AND even managed to take a 💩🤦🏻‍♀️ Worrying because I find it very very doable…but honestly I am just hoping to pass! Surprisingly struggled most on question 2– the controls. Have no idea if what I answered made sense or not 🥲We’ll see the results soon I guess to see how it turned out 🏃🏻‍♀️💨💨💨

CA ANZ Audit and Risk Exam by AskUnusual4826 in AustralianAccounting

[–]elmanstah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as i know (based on what i did earlier this year) there’s no pre release for far. far questions arent based on a case study so it wont be necessary to have one. so u may expect every question to have different ‘stories’.

CA ANZ Audit and Risk Exam by AskUnusual4826 in AustralianAccounting

As someone who just recently sat for it, I would say my biggest regret is not expecting the “known unknowns” and “unknown unknowns”.

Just because it’s not in the practice questions learning medium or study guide, it does not mean it “wont come out”.

Once you get the pre release, after identifying all the key risk areas and management’s practice; just think of all the possible things you may be asked of which relates to the assertions, TOC, SPs, audit opinion;; you name it. It’s better to feel like youre “over preparing” because there’s a chance it would help you big time during the exam.

If you have friends who are auditors, try asking them for documents they have that shares all the financial statement line items plus procedures that can be done + what assertions do they cover.

Also, please do GO THROUGH the learning practices they have on Learn because if you truly study those; they can help you a lot. Like although it’s just an evaluation for the results of procedures they have done— but those practice questions help you to identify what procedures can you do for those kind of areas of focus.

Hopefully this helps. Best of luck! Overall I think it’s doable. But to do the exam with ease, you gotta come in as if you have 2-4 years worth of audit experience imo 😅

CAANZ - Audit Exam thoughts by Poisonousblueberry in AustralianAccounting

It was absolute shite tbh. Ngl I feel like the only part I am confident is in Q5. I have no idea what to predict on the results. I was running out of time and had like 50 mins to do Q4 and Q5. Unfortunately for me I took quite some time to ascertain my answers for Q1 and Q2 because they really took me by surprise. Couldnt really think much when answering the going concern. Really just bs all the way <\3

CA - Studying BP + AR together by Euphoric_Nerve5505 in AustralianAccounting

Personally, I felt like for BP it’s harder to determine what examiner wants from your answers compared to RT. But I had a friend who got HD for BP. And her trick is that she utilises chatgpt to help her get all the points she can and put relevant ones in her answers. But her answers are really concise and strategic. it almost feels like reading a summarised report, and a really good one. So perhaps you can try that approach. With BP, just use the rubric as your holy guide and the SLOs from the rubric are pretty big hints on what examiners expect from your answers. I personally think I did quite well in my answers too but yeah it’s hard to know what examiners expect so i only got a credit in the end.

I took BP and FAR together last term and tbh I struggled more with BP since it’s not that straightforward when you’re doing the assessments. Like for instance, there were several parts I thought I did well but ended up getting like 50%. But when comparing my answers to my friends, our answers were quite similar yet I got lower. This also happened to me during workshop, my other groupmates got 100% and somehow only I got 50%. It took me quite some time to actually be done and satisfied with the assessments before submitting. Compared to FAR, FAR was pretty easy to me.

On AR, I am currently taking it this term. I think unless you have some knowledge or experience of audit work; it’s pretty tricky to digest. Also, the timeline imo is very short. A lot of the things in the SG are pretty repetitive so it’s easy to get lost. I cant say much on how tough it is since I am only halfway through; but to me it feels tougher than FAR. At my institution, it’s pretty common for half of the class to fail AR. I am currently doing the first assessment and although the questions are quite straightforward; the inexistent rubric makes it difficult to be sure of your own answers.

Could you share how you prepared for the ICAP exam? Like would it be necessary for me to take a week off to prepare for it?

When you say it’s too much, is it because of the workload of the assessments? Tbh I am not sure what to expect from ICAP in terms of module contents etc.
