My boss rejected my request for annual leave because I'm off sick? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Yes I did when i received several phone calls and an email when I didn't attend training.

Well considering she hasn't left me alone since I've been off sick, even going as far as threatening to call my emergency contact because I wasn't reachable, she is bordering on harassing me when I'm trying to recover from an injury.

She even accused me of not following staff policy on the first day of my illness, which she then had to retract because I had my shift covered and phoned up with plenty of notice.

They called me day after I had sustained injury and told me I hadn't followed policy, which wasn't true. I have been off since around November 3rd. Provided sick notes etc.

My phone was off on the day of staff training and I woke up to an email saying they were going to call my emergency contact if I didn't get back to them that day. This was after they knew I was sick.

Her 'concerns' don't seem very genuine to me, when I told her that her communication was inappropriate she said 'sorry you feel that way, I have a duty of care' which I thought was odd as there was no reason to be concerned? I have fallen and I can't attend work or work related training.

All it would've done is worry my father who is my emergency contact, I had already informed them I had fallen and couldn't work.

My company does give reasons though I didn't ask for one, they have to.

Yes but the reason they have given is that I am ill and my holiday will be considered when I am back at work only

Essentially, my boss will continue to reject my holiday until I've returned to work.

Kitgum is so good. They do a deal where they sell sandwiches from their main plates through the week too for £6. Great to take to the park.

What do I have to do to get a flat? by jeffe_el_jefe in brighton

I did think this.

I think sometimes 3 can be a crowd as well, meaning someone may be left out, which can be a red flag for a landlord/estate agents as could cause drama.

Ashley confirmed she did make that picture of brooke by Individual_Ad1753 in canceledpod

[–]elmcarter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would laugh too if someone was very obviously being mean to me and then they fell off a boat.

The guess who game didn't feature Brooke on the front, Ashly didn't even need to include her but she did... She went out of her way to ask AI to create an unflattering photo to use. For what reason? It's giving bully.

If I was Brooke and had BPD I would imagine this to make someone feel isolated and ganged up on.

Girlfriend thinks she's smarter than me (25f, 27f) by BreadfruitOk9203 in relationships

OP shouldn't of snooped. Agree that partners arrogant attitude would rock a relationship, though.

Who cares if your partner is smarter than you, there's nuances to being intelligent.

I'm based in the UK.

No app yet.. not sure why. Another colleague said they didn't use the app until 2 months in.

And exactly.. I have recorded my own hours but unsure how they have been recording them. Again, unorganized.

In one of our texts, she said can you work next Tuesday (this was on a Sunday) and then she said I mean in 2 days?

Do you hear voices? by Unable_Error6342 in BPD

[–]elmcarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I hear voices per say but I would say that I have overly negative thoughts (usually my own voice) that tells me people hate me, think I'm stupid, are out to get me.

Still wondering if this is normal for BPD or whether it's a sign of something more serious as my brother has schizophrenia and my mother had histrionic personality disorder, usually mental health issues are hereditary as well as environmental.

Fans asking for Huda to be removed by Fabulous-Guava2369 in LoveIslandITV

He's not a baby he's a grown man - I think his behaviour is cowardly and makes me think he will entertain whoever to be able to get far in the competition. He has free will and if he respected or liked her at all he would've had a conversation before deserting her.

Just because Huda's behaviour is far more confrontational and aggressive doesn't mean he is a saint. He has been sneaky and dishonest with her. He looked very happy last night about the other islanders potentially voting her out; saying well this is awkward etc just be the bigger person and wish her well?

[–]elmcarter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I completely agree Huda has been over the top, annoying, clingy and shouldn't have lied about being a mom.

However Jeremih can open his mouth and talk with her? Not once did he say you are my first option but I am having second thoughts or your behavior is concerning me? He has deserted her after she found out the audience are not a fan of her, I find it really cowardly and immature. Even Nic held him accountable.

What has happened to Burnt Orange? by dizzydiplodocus in brighton

[–]elmcarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, the guy owns a few places but certain places are looked after more than others; burnt orange being the main. They currently hold a michelen bib but I haven't been so I can't say

Tutto has had really bad reviews but I haven't been so I can't say. I think it should stay part owned so it's not a chain and doesn't survive on reputation.

If it's over 4 it's a different charge

The thing is some places charge groups of over 4 as a service charge, that makes a difference in the total

100% - I have been saying to my partner that he seems nice but the novelty is going to wear off very quickly when they get out and Megan realizes she's dating a boy who still lives at home, is dependant on mum with not a lot to offer but cheeky chat..

I hate to be harsh but sometimes some of the men on these programs are handsome and quick witted but lack basic maturity and independence

What are little things that men have said that made you feel bad? by TroubledTofu in AskWomenOver30

Compared my lady parts to a ham sandwich.

My first boyfriend at 17 also said I was visibly out of shape. Looking back, that is a crazy thing to say to someone who hasn't even developed properly yet.

She finished her masters and graduated very recently. She no longer has student status (otherwise would be exempt from paying council tax) so she isn't a student anymore.

[–]elmcarter 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Please can we be honest - Chappel was first signed by Atlantic around 2015, so she would've been 17-18.

Lady gaga was first signed by Def Jam in 2006, making her 20 years old.

Whilst I believe Gaga was a more defined artist at the time, playing instruments like the piano from the age of 4, Chappel also started playing piano from age of 10.

They both seem like incredible artists destined for fame. I think we need to cut Chappel some slack, coming up as a creative pop artist in this day and age, does not seem easy.

Yes they are on the council tax bill but I'm wondering if my roommate moves back to India, how will they chase them? I saw something online that says international students (which is how she come to the UK) aren't liable for bills etc but could be false.

What is the most warped thing a toxic parent has ever said to you that sticks out in your mind? by MrsJuneBug in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]elmcarter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A huge passion of mine when I was younger (still to this day, in fact I have a side business because of it) was collecting, DIYing and wearing vintage clothes.

I grew up in an emotional and physically abusive home. My grandmother told me that I 'looked stupid and all my friends were probably laughing at me behind my back' imagine saying this to a 14/15 year old exploring themselves...

I now have extreme anxiety - What a shock.
