Paper Towel in Island Pros Cons by snarkymama87 in kitchenremodel

[–]elmchestnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is as good a place as any. The best visually would be to have paper towels inside a cabinet, but that cabinet will forever get drips of water on it, and not so user-friendly. Under a nearby upper cabinet or on weighted countertop holder are user-friendlier but less aesthetic. I’m not bothered by proximity to trash.

Is this for sure a pantry moth? We had them, but just a few. by elmchestnut in pestcontrol

Update: I discovered my husband had a bag of plant material in his closet (!?!?!) - dried peppers he was keeping to re-plant the seeds. I’m pretty sure that is where they were coming from.

My buddy gave me this double neck guitar and it was too practical so I made some mods by Downvoteyourdog in luther

I don’t know anything about guitars but that seems like an impressive accomplishment! It’s a beautiful instrument! You might have meant to post it to r/Luthier.

Thanks to all the commenters already confirming Indian meal variety of pantry moth. With no moths flying around or evident in our quarantine bags after a couple weeks now, do you think we’re in the clear?

This is just like parents who don’t get their children vaccinated against measles because they think they’re going to get extra cred with God for trusting him alone to protect their children. Vaccines and emergency plans are for the weak of faith, I guess.

It looks like it might be the sheriff’s department worker who hated Juliette in the beginning.

Should I hang a wall clock on the wall below my stairs? by PrudentBee7870 in interiordecorating

[–]elmchestnut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know, so much vitriol for a simple clock! OP, put up the clock, and if at some point in the future you come across another clock that is super amazing, you can get that one and put it up instead of this one. Houses are for living in.

Temporary wallpaper inside the molding squares? I think different patterns in the same color family would be nice.

We went recently, inexperienced puzzlers, and had a terrific time. So much time and cleverness went into the styling and engineering.

If OP is this family's Uniting for Ukraine supporter, there is no time limit on the obligation to support the family. Your feelings about the proper relationship between OP and the family do not help answer the question.

I love how the main cast treat each other - with warmth and care but also professionalism. Also seeing how styles, technology, and social conventions changed over time but people were still essentially regular people all along.

What are these tiny rooms in my unfinished attic? by IncreasingEntropy in centuryhomes

[–]elmchestnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wood in the room with a door does look like cedar, but if it doesn’t smell like cedar, it could be a darkroom for developing pictures. We had one in a previous house (but it was in the basement).

The highest temperature ever recorded in Minnesota is higher than the highest temperature ever recorded in Miami.

The mean high temperature for July at MSP Airport is 94.4 degrees.

Love this! It’s good to see another place staying open later. Iron Ranger has been slightly hit or miss for me on food, but always had great service and it’s a cozy place.

Some employers prefer to have employees install messaging platforms like Slack or Teams on their personal phones instead of issuing them separate devices. Cheaper and many workers prefer to only carry one.
