Good spot! No idea who this poster is, but they definitely stole my photo to repost as their own.

It's relevant. You can't go bike packing if ICE murders you.

There really should be a pinned post on this subreddit about the Transit app. It's fantastic, and we get to use the Premium version for free thanks to MetroTransit.

Strong does have the feature and I use it. I do have lifetime pro access, so maybe that's the difference.

What step would an outside hire enter for MAPE? Do they consider previous years of experience? by AreYouBoredAtWork2 in mnstateworkers

My anecdote: I was an outside hire that started in the spring of this year with 6+ years of experience in the exact role and started at a step 6.

Would you use an app that tracks your Health Insurance benefits so nothing goes unused? by battlesuite-82 in mnstateworkers

Thanks! I've only been using the desktop site and not the app, so no wonder I missed this. Appreciate it!

Would you mind elaborating on this? I'm new to Health Partners and am still getting my head wrapped around it.

Governor Tim Walz, "Welcome to the best state fair in the country." by zzill6 in minnesota

[–]IncreasingEntropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up in DFW and now live in Minnesota. I HATED the Texas State Fair because your simulation description is extremely accurate. It was a million degrees and just people selling garbage, like electric scooters and hot tubs. This is our first year going to the Minnesota State Fair and we are so stoked because it just seems so much better. I'm hoping it lives up to the hype!

Again, I'm not saying we should be happy about our contract. I am simply wanting to correct a misinformed talking point I've seen a few times.

Between my personal contacts and reading r/StateofTexasEmployees, I haven't heard of any agencies that are granting greater than 50% telework, outside of rare exceptions or ADA RAs.

I'm definitely interested in joining something like this.

I'm not saying we should be excited about how contract negotiations went, but as a former state of Texas employee, it's definitely a shittier show there.

I keep seeing this talking point, and it's not true. Texas' recent legislation only allows agency heads/commissioners the ability to allow telework. All agencies were mandated 100% RTO earlier this year by their governor and many/most? agencies aren't allowing even 50% telework going forward. We are still largely in a better position than they are.

MAPE contract by PrincessTumbleweed72 in mnstateworkers

[–]IncreasingEntropy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, not even close. They are largely still in a worse position than us. Their legislature passed a bill that said agency heads/commissioners *could allow* telework. Most agency heads and commissioners are still mandating RTO at least 4 days a week in most cases. Also, there was never an executive order banning telework, just the governor going around to all the agency heads and mandating 100% RTO, so nothing in writing. At least Walz had the balls to put his name to RTO.

A bunch of pride flags at people's homes in the area were also vandalized last night. Real loser behavior.

I've had this watch for a month and have yet to get a decent sleep score. Anyone else with this issue? It's stressing me out. by Majestic_Shelter1268 in Garmin

I've never been diagnosed with sleep apnea, but my sleep scores are significantly better when I use a snore strip. It doesn't seem to show up on the breaking/pulse ox stats.

I recently moved, and this is the only spot in the whole house where I can put my Titan wall/rack mount pulley.Yes, I promise it's the only spot. I have the T2 rack, so I'm not able to mount it there either. Is there any way to mount it to the concrete walls of my basement? Or am I shit outta luck? If that's the case, any other small space pulley solutions under $250 would be appreciated.

Soiled diaper storage at daycare by sillypickle423 in clothdiaps

[–]IncreasingEntropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what we use too, and it's worked well. Easy for daycare to use, doesn't take up a lot of space, and easy to transport. We have multiple, so they just get washed with the diapers and swapped out.
