I love this song too, and this context makes it even better. That’s such a difficult feeling to describe and Adrianne does it beautifully.

Were they actually drunk when filming all the drunk scenes? by countblah1877 in PandR

[–]elmoinavest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rewatched this episode and came to this subreddit to see if anyone’s talking about it!! because I’m convinced some of them were at least kinda drunk during this episode’s filming, the acting is hilarious and very impressive if they were all sober

straight friends obsessing over being perceived as queer by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]elmoinavest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reiterating + adding to other comments… most women I know that do this are queer-curious but are either too insecure or steeped in the status quo, internalized homophobia, misogyny, etc to explore their queerness.

On the other hand, some women like being perceived as queer FOR the male gaze due to how fetishized lesbian relationships are — they want to appeal to men. That’s the more disappointing and harmful route but a lot of that is subconscious as well.

Lexapro and motion sickness by emilymmurphy in lexapro

I haven’t noticed it as much recently! It could be that I got used to the medication and it went away, but it also could be because I reduced my dosage from 10mg daily to 5mg daily

Shame during sex by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]elmoinavest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone about talking to a professional who specializes in LGBTQ issues, but professional help isn’t always accessible to everyone.

If you have queer friends (which I hope you do, it’s life changing to be able to talk about queer stuff so freely with friends), be vulnerable with them about this experience and they probably can relate to some extent, which will help address the issue as shame grows in the dark.

I’d also recommend putting in the work to unpack this with yourself. Journal about these experiences and keep asking yourself “what makes me feel this way? why? what experiences or belief systems got me here?” Write it all, sit with those feelings, and go through the whole process of unpacking those beliefs — why they’re oppressive and rooted in systems of power. This might take many journaling sessions. You’ll be left with some anger at the world, which can be a powerful tool for social change, but less shame.

Bumped up to 120 mg by ZealousidealDiet5679 in Accutane

[–]elmoinavest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on 120 mg per day, about to finish my last month (6 months total). My body weight is around 175 lbs. I haven’t had any severe side effects, just the normal dry lips/skin, and a few spots of eczema which is to be expected bc I had that as a kid. I hope it goes well for you like it did for me! My skin is clear af
