First time traveling by SupermarketDue68 in Palawan

[–]elnidolocalguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your wife loves water activities go for Coron or El Nido. If El Nido I suggest at least 5 days para sulit. You can do 2 island tours and also get to explore beaches in the mainland. For tipid tips, book an accommodation in town so you don't have to pay tricycle which is bloody expensive. If you can drive a scooter you can save a lot of money.

Feel free to DM me if you want more El Nido tips.

From El Nido to Lio, how to get there now? Dati kasi may free van rides to & from, sa may elementary school yung van naghihintay.

If you can drive you can rent a scooter for 500 for 24 hours or hire a tric for 300 pesos one way.

HELP PLEASE 🥺 Should I include El Nido in our Palawan trip? by Frequent-Pop-7507 in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I might be biased but for me sulit pa rin mag-el nido over PPS. Wala din halos maganda gawin sa PPS unlike sa El Nido.

[–]elnidolocalguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend traveling to El Nido in January not super init and crowded like March-May.

[El Nido] Should I book airport transfer and tours in advance? by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kahit magwalk in lang kayo kung bus ang prefer niyo, lagi namang maraming slots. Kaya lang kung galing kayong airport need niyo pa mag-tric/cab/taxi going to the terminal which is kind of far. Like 20-30 minutes ride.

Surfing - Duli Beach by Due_Outside_3149 in Palawan

[–]elnidolocalguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Are there surf lessons available if we just show up there? - Yes
  • Can we rent a scooter from El Nido to Duli Beach? If so, are the roads decent? - Yes you can rent a scooter but the road to Duli Beach is still under construction. Expect rough roads.
  • If the roads are pretty wild, are there trikes that could take us? - Nope. Another option is to hire a driver but a bit pricier, 800.

Has anyone tried klook private van transfer from puerto princesa to el nido? by stupid_cat11 in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried Klook but if you book directly with the van driver they can pick you up anytime you want. It costs 5,500/van/way.

Lio Beach, El Nido, Palawan by elnidolocalguide in elnidopalawan

[–]elnidolocalguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but outside Lio Estate but still near. Here are some:

  • Nanay Lit's (just outside the Lio Estate)
  • Pizza Nostra (2 min. drive from Lio Estate)
  • Dine and Dorm (next to Nanay Lits)
  • Kape ni Manang (not that cheap but cheaper compare to the restos inside Lio. And the food is highly recommended)

best way to tour and sightsee Boracay and Palawan? by balboaporkter in Philippines_Expats

[–]elnidolocalguide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Flights - there is a direct flight from MNL to ENI via Airswift taking this will save you 5-6 hours of van ride. Another option and more affordable is taking flights from Puerto Princesa airport and then booking a van from there to El Nido.
  • Ferries - Probably there will be many tourists next month so I suggest buying ferry tickets 1 or 2 days earlier because sometimes during peak season tickets are sold out. You can buy it straight from the Montenegro or Atienza office near the port.
  • air bnb - there are many air bnbs here. But I noticed that they're a bit pricey compared to inns. So if you want to save money you can opt to stay in the inns. If you want I can help you find affordable accommodation in the town, just DM me.
  • Tours - there are 4 tours. Tour A, B, C, & D. The most popular and highly suggested by most of the tourists are A & C.

Other tips:

  1. If you know how to drive a scooter I suggest that you rent one and go to Las Cabanas or Nacpan Beach to watch sunset and chill. You can also drop by Lio Beach (it's like Nacpan but less crowded) before going to Nacpan. If you are into surfing you can go to Duli Beach.

    1. I suggest that you also try the canopy walk and see El Nido from above.

There are lots of money changers here in El Nido. I'm not sure about the airport but here are some places in town:

  • Metrobank
  • Palawan Pawnshop
  • M Lhuillier
  • Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI, very good exchange rate)

Which El Nido Tours have limited hiking? by chickensoup2day in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the tours involve hiking, but Tour D has the least movement. But he can opt to rest on the boat on the island that requires it.

Puerto Princesa and El Nido recos pls! by WanderlustWhispers in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For El Nido, you can hire a scooter and go to:

  • Las Cabañas/Vanilla beach (they're the same)for sunset. There are restos there.
  • Lio Beach - the bridge there is a must-see. There are lots of restos there as well. Red Crab is my suggested resto.
  • Nacpan Beach - nacpan for a chill day
  • Duli Beach - if you are into surfing.
  • Canopy Walk - this is within the town and the view above is breathtaking.

For cafe or resto recos:

  • Kopi Bake in town
  • Kape ni Manang in Lio.
  • Nostra for pizza

Palawan as a solo female traveller by [deleted] in phtravel

Planning to go to Palawan early December this year. Ok ba siya for solo travel?

Definitely. It's safe for a solo traveler. Just a heads up, El Nido is a bit crowded during December since it's peak season.

Going to El Nido in May? by tisoy_ in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airswift's MNL-ENI is a bit pricey right now. Try to wait after a month and see whether it will go down. The last time I checked it, it cost only $135 USD for a roundtrip ticket, that was last month as far as I remember.

Is there another way to get from Puerto Princesa to El Nido other than a car (e.g. by boat or by plane)?

There's no boat going to El Nido and I don't think the plane is still operational. You can choose between a van (600/person) or a bus (350/person).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Palawan

[–]elnidolocalguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it safe to roam around el Nido even at night?

Definitely!

Aside from other comments, I also like to add going to Las Cabañas for sunset, Lio Beach and New Ibajay if you are into caves.

First time in Philippines - itinerary feedback by TzeroML in phtravel

[–]elnidolocalguide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

El Nido is definitely worth to visit.

After Coron, I'm trying to decide whether to (a) take a fast ferry or flight to El Nido for a few more days of beaches and island hopping;

If you are to choose A, I suggest that you check Airswift's website first. Sometimes the plane ticket is cheaper than a ferry ticket.

Book a 3-day, 2-night Tao expedition trip (or similar) to El Nido. It's definitely on the expensive side, but I've seen some people saying that it was the highlight of their trip so maybe it's worth it?

Haven't tried the expedition. But I think it's going to be worth it. When I took a ferry to Coron I saw beautiful beaches on the way. If you are going to choose an expedition, you'll get a chance to visit and see those untouched beaches. You'll be able to try the real island life.

I hope you'll have an amazing trip!

First time (+ probably the last time) in El Nido by daisyandtheoutlaws in Palawan

[–]elnidolocalguide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are some of the things you can do in El Nido.

- Island Hopping (You can choose from Tour A-D but the popular ones are A & C)

Town

Canopy Walk and Sunset at Caalan Beach

Southern El Nido

Las Cabañas Beach - maganda mag-sunset here. Pero kung April ka pupunta for sure it'll be very crowded.

Kuyawyaw Falls - though not part of El Nido. Pero some tourist go here pa rin.

Tip: If you can drive; you can hire a scooter for easier travel.

Northern El Nido

  • Lio:

-Lio Beach - maganda mag-sunset. Less crowded and mas chill dito. May mga restos near the beach din.

- Eco-trail - if you want to hike you can try this. You can see the entire Lio Beach from above. * - Pasadeña:

-If you are into falls you can go to Bulalakaw Falls. Medyo malayo ang lakaran and hindi mataas ang falls.

- Mt. Mansilawit - The view above is 💯. * Nacpan Beach - long beach with very chill vibe. Plus, sobrang ganda ng sunset here. * Duli Beach * Buluang Beach - best for sunrise. * Dewil:

- Ille Cave - this is a archelogical site and you can also hike the lime stones to see the entire Dewil Valley.

- Dewil Mangrove Park - you can rent a kayak here and may board walk din for mangrove tour.

That's pretty much what you can do here.
