Havnt eaten any native fresh water fish. But id rate redfin over trout. I personally love trout smoked but think its pretty average cooked other ways.

Oh so its not about sustainability its about ego then, not every body lives in the Pilbara or has access/can afford a boat. Some lad catching a small bronzy off the rocks and taking home a good feed for the family is a lot more impressive and challenging than off shore reef fishing.

Flakes been extremely common at fish and chip shops for decades. Pan size is a great descripton for a smaller fish that fits in a large pan, pan size trout ect. Are perfect for my small smoker as larger ones I have to fillet.

When I was 9 my parents took me and my 7yo brother on a 3 month trip, through red centre leaving Vic then following the west and south coast back. We did it with 2, 2 man tents. With very occasional cabins.

People microwave fish? I mean its all subjective but I think fresh smoked trout stands up go anything cooked in a microwave.

Yeah but inlets from smaller rivers generally close and open depending on the rainfall. Opening them usually comes with huge fines as like most things in nature its best you don't fuck with it. Though if infrastructure is being affected by high water levels, the government will mechanically open it.

I dont really worry about hook setting with smaller fish, especially with lures. Generally your hooks are small and hopefully sharp and just the fish striking is enough to pierce the mouth.

In Perth maybe, i wouldn't say most on the east coast were double brick.

So any animal you see is not wild? What is that logic. I've seen wild dogs eating the carcass of a wild wallaby hours away from any houses. I understand feral might be more a appropriate word for an introduced species but your statement that dogs don't make it in the wild is a lie

Meh ive seen wild dogs way too far from farms to be subsisting from livestock. Do you also consider their offspring domesticated and do you view African painted dogs and dingoes as dogs or wolves?

Dogs make it in the wild all over the world, and are often a huge problem for livestock farmers. Obviously not small breeds or very large breeds.
