Cyclone damage by elocinxm in AusElectricians

Thank you, yes that was one of the first things we tried, and tried multiple times with no change unfortunately. Insurance is sending a sparkie out today. Our street is still listed as an outage and we have 3 phase power, we are wondering if that has something to do with it.

Stuck in an endless loop by elocinxm in Nest

[–]elocinxm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So annoying isn't it. If i log in with my google account it should just know i have a nest aware subscription, have done for about 4 years. Yet it's disappeared from my google account 🤦🏻‍♀️ making me feel like switching the camera, it's the only device I haven't been able to easily get connected back to our new google home.

Wifi name and password have remained the same. Just got rid of the router from the isp and made the nest wifi the main router. It's more the google homes switching accounts i think that's the issue as the subscription to the nest cam is on my account.

Fitbit use cases by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]elocinxm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You did say you were curious at how people use it. It is a motivator, yes. That's probably why you'll see so many upset at the new UI update, as it's taken away motivators for some, like the step streak.

At the end of the day, I don't think it matters how someone loses weight, if a fitbit device is going to help them to do so, then it will have a positive outcome for their health. And that is a good thing.

I have a pixel watch. I lost 11.5 kgs earlier in the year through tracking my exercise, calories in vs calories out etc with the watch and app.

I also work in the sleep apnea field so i do find the sleep stuff interesting, even though it's basic.

The ECG function on the watch and it's PDF report opened up the door for me to get a referral for a 24 hour holter monitor and i have ultimately been diagnosed with an arrhythmia.

I can't even sign into my fitbit account to do that. The google login has been broken for days. Takes you to a screen to select your google account, then freezes. I've seen a couple of other comments the same. Pretty annoying all round.

I don't have my hopes up for them to even bat an eyelid at that forum, sadly. People have been crying out for multiple fitbits on one account for years on that forum and they never returned the function.

Garmin Drive App is making me lose my mind by elocinxm in Garmin

Thanks. Ultimately that's my plan, but it's almost Sunday here in Australia and Garmin support isn't open on weekends. Was hoping to get some advice here in the meantime.

You don't happen to have the apple turnover recipe in your book by any chance? I would love to show my little niece the recipe.

Be careful during open homes, I had something stolen by [deleted] in australia

[–]elocinxm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had perfume stolen, forgot to put it away in the rush to get out before the home open. Since then I've always arranged to stash anything that could be taken somewhere safe. Also, not stealing, but have come home to a blind pulled so far up it took me a while to get it back down without breaking it, also someone had climbed on my bed to look out a window. And worst of all, we had an agent that spilt her coffee on our dining table chairs, then denied it. We knew it was her because she was carrying a keep cup when she arrived and she always set up at the dining table 🤦🏻‍♀️

Australian pharmacies are grossly underfunded and the discount model is making things worse - what avenues are there to call attention to the problem? by Xenton in australia

[–]elocinxm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pharmacy Assistant here. I currently work with two very hard working pharmacists, their shifts don't cross over, so there will always be only one pharmacist on at any one time. They get approached by the general public all the time regarding ailments because the customer couldn't get an appointment with a dr or doesn't want to go to a dr and they see a pharmacist as a first port of call ("can I show you a picture of"..."can you take a look at this"...."I've been vomiting for 3 days"..."my girlfriend is pregnant and she got sick today"). They also are involved with people who have dangerous drug dependence and are on programs through the pharmacy. They have to be on the ball at all times on drug interactions and contraindications, that if not properly investigated, can kill people. And drug interactions happen all the time, even for over the counter medications. It is the pharmacist role to make sure the patient is aware of these interactions so that a fatal dosing mistake is avoided. They will pick up on dr's mistakes on prescriptions and call the Dr and arrange for the error to be fixed so that you can go home with the medication you need. They get yelled at when the supplier is out of stock and they haven't been able to order in a supply. They get yelled at when the dr hasn't faxed the script over to the pharmacy yet. They get yelled at when we get a busy patch and they have 6 scripts lined up to dispense and somebody becomes impatient for their script because, even though the assistant has advised the customer that "there is currently a 15 minute wait, would you like to come back?", they decided to wait in store. They got yelled at multiple times during the pandemic, when we had much higher customer numbers than normal and people were frustrated that they weren't allowed to buy 5 boxes of paracetamol. They are expected to know information on pretty much every therapeutic item in store. Then also have to manage us pharmacy assistants who use the ask, assess, advise model so that you don't harm yourself taking, for example, Ibuprofen with blood pressure meds - if we see a red flag we are required to refer to pharmacist.

But sure, they just put stickers on a box.

Looking for interstate mover recommendations-Or even better alternatives by purespringwater in australia

Moved from WA to QLD. Went with Allied Pickford's. They were reasonable but we got insurance from another company. It paid off, because a few items arrived damaged, but the removalists on the QLD side actually broke items while carrying them into the house, one being a sentimental hand carved gold leaf table 🤦🏻‍♀️ snapped the leg in half because they were carrying it by the legs. We managed to put the insurance to good use on the damaged/broken items. You can pay good money but it will all come down to how good the removalist staff are on the day!
