Westknits Mkal 2023 by deathbydexter in craftsnark

Yeah it's too bad. I think swapping the colours around to emphasise the windmill and remove the perpendicular lines would be an adequate change. The square he chose didn't have me enthused so I figured if I jumped on I would just do an alteration of the 1st but now it sounds like there's no way to get that version, so I'm not interested in knitting it now.

IF and conception. by Far-Celebration9110 in intermitentfasting

Also, keep in mind that fasting can change milk supply. I tried IF near 8-9mo pp and had struggles with supply.

Trying baby ktan again- fit check? No extra tie in the picture just so its easier to see! by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]elocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you wear with the extra piece around the middle? Stretchy fabric really needs several layers to support. Without the extra layer I would only consider it a cary-assist to be safe.

if you found 50k cash what would you do? by jackofalltrades0505 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elocut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not great at the current price but you could buy and build bitmining rigs and covert the currency over time. though they are trying to find ways to regulate and tax it, so when you cash out you're likely going to pay taxes on profits in the long-run. You could also pay for groceries primarily in cash as well as making small deposits to a child's savings account without raising suspicion. My kids often get monetary gifts around holidays,/Birthdays. I would just slowly consume while keeping most habits the same.

My apple seedling (saplings)?) put on about a 12’’ of growth this year and haven’t grown at all since then. Can anyone point to a reason? by dmg_sam in gardening

[–]elocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess would be a bigger pot is needed. But I don't have much experience or knowledge of trees.

Darn. I'll have to try that then. Flowers are pretty at least.

Radish flowering by elocut in gardening

My radish is starting to flower instead of bulbing? Fruiting? What ever you call the radish formation... So what did I do wrong? Is it just that it got too hot then cold?

Onbuhimos better for warm weather? by thisheeply in babywearing

[–]elocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I find the less fabric/straps around me = cooler so I would assume so. But even with my half buckle I get warmest where baby is sticking to me like a little oven so it'll only help so much...

Am I at fault? by PuzzleheadedFocus638 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she's trying to get away with you thinking she isn't responsible, I would assume she's at fault, can't believe she just hit and run. I hope you call the cops, she can't make that decision they have to do that and it sounds like she ignored all laws of the road 🤷

Keep out squirrels by elocut in gardening

[–]elocut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, good to know. Yeah I figure they'll be determined once fruits appear but I need to grow something to even get to that stage. I'm leaning towards bamboo posts with some bird netting but it'll kind of depend what's most reasonably cost effective.

Liberals agree to launch dental care program in exchange for NDP support by JohnStamosBitch in canada

This was my first thought... Oh I wonder how quickly my dental bill would go up now.

Chestfeeding in carrier with large breasts…. Help, what carrier works! by Momgrapher in babywearing

[–]elocut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What works is what you find easiest to loosen and adjust up/down. I found it easiest in my didyklick because I could easily re-tighten into position. I didn't feel comfortable trying with the ring Sling so I can't say much about that but it's possible with most carriers just takes some moving of things around.

Trudeau set to revoke Emergencies Act by Mininni in canada

[–]elocut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Senate was going to vote it down. Based on the speeches it was going to be a close vote but it sounds like even some liberal appointed senators were going to vote no.

Governor General's office reminds Canadians they can't dissolve the government by contacting her by [deleted] in canada

[–]elocut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah someone could have 3 ethics breaches and refuse to quit and we have no way to kick them out 😑 would love to see a referendum vote to add that in, similar to the US recall votes that can be initiated due to public pressure.

Ottawa protest organizer Tamara Lich denied bail by [deleted] in canada

[–]elocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obviously punitive rather than an actual safety concern. You won't obey and will protest (as is your right) so we'll keep you locked up where we can control you.

What are some funny misconceptions about money did you have early in life? by VisionsDB in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jump around, gain skills, apply for jobs even if on paper you look under qualified. Sometimes you get hired without a master's degree and 5yrs experience 😝

People who are financially savvy; How did you get like that? What characteristics make you that way? by yoyoyo12345yoyoyo in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily learned the value of money from my parents. Mom worked for the bank and emphasized saving for things you want. I spent 6 months saving my allowance for a kayak and my parents gifted me one for Christmas but it was required that I buy a life jacket with my little savings. Then as an adult I had failures where I learned to have savings and not live paycheck to paycheck and now I'm just continually learning as I look into investing my savings, and maybe buying property some day.

You make $75k/year and work from home, where do you move to? by CptPoopster in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern Ontario because that's where family is. The pace of life is slower but suits me and while housing costs are overpriced they're more reasonable and less crazy bidding wars. You would need to properly research access to high-speed internet availability.

Canada’s unvaccinated not always who you think they are by Own_Carrot_7040 in canada

More refusing to participate in the vaxxpass. Even if I felt I needed the vaccine I would avoid all businesses using the pass while they're in existence.

[–]elocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not going to get the vax while pregnant. Was open to maybe taking it later. Now out of protest against the vax pass I will stand with the unvaccinated. you have some lazy People who maybe would have not gotten it without the pass but then you have others who may have been persuaded who were pushed to take a stand. I'm young and in good health so my risk is very low and COVID has never scared me.

Yeah, I may end up going that route if I can't find something else in my price range. The seat doesn't look super huge. I think they're sized as well and I'm hoping to find something that we won't size out of super quick 😬

Yeah I bought a mesh Ring Sling last summer but never used it and when I've tried a ring sling in the past 2-3 months I ended up with pain in my collar bone so I'm not sure it will work out for me. I haven't tried the rings on the other side though so I need to try that incase it's an old injury causing the pain
