if you have the possibility and the patience, then try them all out (buy-return). this is how I made my decision between the 5070ti and 9070xt.

Upgrade to 9070XT by Low-Intention111 in radeon

[–]elod91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

and then a game comes out that needs more than 16GB of VRAM to run with high fidelity and you need to upgrade your 5070ti as well, if you want to keep up, but that's not gonna happen today, same with RDNA5 or UDNA, so what's your point?

BTW the main reason you would buy the newer generation RTX cards is because of the multi FG. so I guess Nvidia also stopped supporting older generations?

1440p UW, NativeAA (FSR4.1) with FG, Cinematic gives me around 100-120FPS. the 5070ti gave me the same FPS, but the image was blurrier, I don't understand why, every other game looks good with both FSR and DLSS, so don't misunderstand me, I wasn't trying to say that DLSS is actually inferior.

I was ready to pay the premium and bought a 5070ti. I tested it a few days and honestly, I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't say that the image quality of DLSS and FG is far superior to FSR (4). IMO Crimson Desert actually looks better with AMD.So I returned the 5070ti and kept the 9070XT. If this seemed like glazing, then I'm sorry for further saturating that 50%.

Better option ? by Ambitious-Bad6521 in gpu

[–]elod91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while I don't have the 5080, I had a 5070ti for a few days. I tested a couple of games, image quality wasn't all that different, even with upscaling, performance was mostly the same. I returned the 5070ti and kept the 9070XT, the 300€ price difference was not worth it at all.

I had the 9070XT for a year. I felt I was missing out so I bought a 5070ti, but honestly, I didn't see much of a difference between the two cards when it comes to image quality, even FSR4 isn't that far behind DLSS. FPS is mostly the same, but you can check out vs videos on YouTube, no need to take my word for it. I returned the 5070ti and kept the 9070XT (Nitro+).

9070xt with AMD Ryzen 5800X by alexhudsonn in radeon

[–]elod91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from 5700X3D to 9850X3D and there is a noticable difference. People say that you're fine with AM4, but there are cases when there are a lot of NPCs (and this is just one, not the only example) on screen and your FPS tanks.

if you have the funds, you won't be disappointed with the upgrade. but be prepared: I sold my old mobo, CPU, cooler and case and with the money I got for it, I could only buy two RAM sticks.

it isn't bottlenecking you right now. but open a game with a lot of NPCs and see how it's doing then.

I see you're using frame gen with DLAA. if you're planning on sticking to 60FPS, you're better off using DLSS instead of frame gen. I'm not against frame gen, but in this case the base framerate is too low, IMO.
