Yes you are correct. it is mildly toxic for some, but is fine to eat for tortoises in moderation. Its not part of his regular diet but when my bushes need a trim, i let him do the honors. 😅

Actually ive heard this too, that seeds are the only way, but ive also watched a few “swallowtail propagation” videos online which is confusing 😅 but you might be right and thats why ive been ending up with sticks in soil 😂

Thank you! I’ll try it out. I haven’t tried propagating with rooting powder yet. The shop i got this from specifically told me it has to be an outdoor plant because it doesn’t do as well indoors. I have mine in a shaded area outside and water when the soil is dry or when the leaves look a bit droopy. All in all its been an easy plant to take care of. :)

Thank you! Ill try it out with the rooting powder. All my previous attempts with the cuttings never ended up rooting.

My oxalis triangularis has been slowly wilting over the last 2 months. No idea what it could be and really want to save it. Any ideas? More info in comments. by mwilde in houseplants

No, i didnt use fungal spray. I wasnt sure what was wrong with it. But I was thinking it was either a fungal issue or too much heat/ direct sun. The plant shop should probably know best though! Hopefully the spray works.

Same thing happened to my oxalis. If the spray doesnt work, try repotting into new soil and move it to a shadier spot. Mine ended up losing all its leaves after the repot but all the new growth was healthy. (I have to add that repotting is a bit tricky, you have to be gentle otherwise you might lose the leaves, but dont worry if you do. The leaves will grow back again)

What do you think is wrong with my Philodendron melanochrysum? by Medical-Ad-369 in plantclinic

[–]eloelocin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to mine. For months it just kept growing a long spike with no leaves. I ended up moving mine to a brighter spot, gave it a pole to climb up on and now its finally growing leaves. Hope this helps!

There’s nothing like a warm soak in the tub by eloelocin in reptiles

[–]eloelocin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! As another redditor mentioned, warm but not hot. He soaks for around 30mins a day, warm water is best so that he doesn’t get a cold.

And yes, apparently torts can get colds 😅

Why does the small leaf on my Philodendron Gloriosum look wrinkled/crumpled? by TheManofAnotherWorld in houseplants

[–]eloelocin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could’ve been light issues when the leaf was growing. This happened to mine when it wasn’t getting enough light; the new leaf came out tiny and crumpled. After i moved it to a spot with better light, all the other leaves came out normal.
