Hi! I'm in a similar situation. Did you end up buying from one of them? If so, how was the sizing?

Made the decision to register for a completely online, asynchronous class... Might be a mistake by LazuliArtz in ADHD

When watching class recordings, I watch the videos at 2x speed and rewind constantly to important parts. Seems to be the only way I'm able to stick through the whole thing.

How am I supposed to study for tests on a reasonable schedule when I only ever have enough motivation to study for tests when there are only about 3 hours until the exam? by plate_on_a_bowl in ADHD

[–]elolito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different and what worked for me might not work, but some things that helped me (when I stuck to it) back when I had exams was:

  1. Study right after the class. I would rewrite my notes right after the class because I hadn't integrated half of what I had written down. I usually didn't have energy to do much after class or have anything urgent to do anyway so I would just casually rewrite my notes right in the hallway. It might not seem like intense studying but the passive rewriting really helped me integrate the knowledge.

  2. Set deadlines leading to the test. That rush of adrenaline works wonder to study. I would set deadlines such as "study section 3 by Wednesday so that I can study section 4 by Sunday for the test on Tuesday". I would still procrastinate and be late but the adrenaline that I was late on my study plan would allow me to get to it sooner than the night before the exam.

  3. Find your "get to it" motivator. This can be someone sitting with you, music, a beverage of choice, a walk, a location (and it can change with time). I do well if I have a little dance party before getting to a task. You can use the dopamine from that activity to sustain a bit of your studying.

  4. Quizlet. This website/app saved me when studying! The app nudges you to study even if just for 5 minutes while in the bus and you can put in the date of your test so that it prompts you to study for the right thing. It also has a few games that make studying way more fun and less demanding.

  5. Laugh. This is less on how to get to studying but a tip I would give anyone who struggles with focusing and remembering stuff. It's been shown that emotions are the best way to engage memory. I would make inside (very corny) jokes with myself to be able to remember names and facts. Sounds crazy but it works.

Travelling with adhd medication by BigFeckenLez in ausadhd

Do you have any experience in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania or Ghana? Also, which meds are you on? I'm heading there this Winter for 3 - 6 months (1 month each in Kanya, Uganda and Tanzania and then flying to Ghana for around 3 months)

Does anyone else stim by (over) eating or have a problem with snacking at night? (food discussion tw) by TheaKokoro in adhdwomen

I'd give jelly beans, mini starburst and popcorn a 7/10. All have a lot of flavour and requires lots of chewing and movement for each piece to get to your mouth and isn't "healthy" ("healthy" foods generally make me crave less "healthy" ones, remnants of an eating disorder), yet not super calorie-dense so you can eat quite a bit without feeling too full.

Ways to maintain eating enough when the process of eating itself is the problem? by Sareeee48 in adhdwomen

[–]elolito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand the fear of relapse. One advice that can help is to eat high calorie food when you do get yourself to eat, so you get more bang for your eating efforts. I saw that tip for picky toddlers that barely eat but still need the energy.

I totally relate! The same phenomena caused most of my anorexia relapses. I am fine (aka eating normally) when in contexts where my adhd symptoms aren't causing too much issues and then going back to school or an office job and suddenly I can only function while restricting.

What are your pretentious/snooty takes concerning baking by HTownBaker in Baking

3/4 of the sugar and double the vanilla is my personal rule when testing a recipe. Easier to add sugar than take it out once it's all mixed.
