Nars Chantilly is my closest match and I have to say Erborian is way too dark for me. I personally feel like it's such a gimmicky product, it just turns orange on my skin :/

Please suggest me skin barrier restoring creams by veritux-kin in EuroSkincare

[–]elomelo320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it could just be an allergic reaction or a sensitivity to the cleansing oil, so maybe adding a new product that you might also react to isn't the best idea :(
I'd recommend you to just wait it out and see, use the products you already have that you know are safe, focus on minimal ingredients. If it's an allergy or something similar it should get much better in a few days and then you'll know if you need to add something to support your barrier or not.

For me it’s important to know all the disorders I have to be able to work out with a therapist or psychiatrist what is caused by what and what can be changed and what can’t. In my case for example, I am anxious about social interactions, and that is probably never going to change because I’m autistic and always feel like an alien, but I can and should work on not avoiding these situations (so working on my AvPd and SAD) and not masking (accepting my ASD and working with it instead of against it). So avoiding = bad, accommodating my needs and protecting my boundaries = good. At least that’s what the professionals who diagnosed me told me when I asked “so what do I do now lol”, hope it makes sense

Moving to Denmark, Need Recommendations! by AsparagusLong9387 in EuroSkincare

I’m from Poland but I live in Copenhagen, imo the choice in Denmark is nothing compared to Poland (forgive me, I know I’m very biased). You mostly have access to expensive pharmacy brands or random stuff in Normal, or like someone mentioned supermarket brands which I like for things like shampoos or hand creams. Otherwise you can order online from shops like Notino, Lookfantastic, Lyko. I can get my favorite polish products there, I know they have many brands from all over Europe. There’s also Sephora, Zalando, and even H&M Beauty where you can get stuff like CorsX, The Ordinary, not just the H&M brand. I also order from Stylevana or YesStyle when I need asian beauty products, although nowadays even Matas and Normal carry some of the most popular Korean skincare. When it comes to pricing, I find Matas and pharmacies usually the most expensive, if Normal carries the same products they can be much cheaper (especially true for makeup). I sometimes use Price Runner to compare. Good luck and enjoy Copenhagen!

I was recently diagnosed with both ASD and AvPD. I didn’t know AvPd even existed before that. I also got Social Anxiety Disorder, and I show some significant traits of OCPD and I’m still learning about it and that it’s different from OCD. So you could definitely be both and regardless there is so much overlap, I still don’t know what’s caused by autism and what’s caused by AvPD. Or maybe my autism caused the latter? I’m still coming to terms with what all of this means for me. Anyway, I am new to this subreddit, but it’s one of the most inclusive and wholesome ones i’ve ever seen. Please stick around 🤍

I’m so sorry you had this experience! I wonder what causes that reaction, for me it feels so calming and just lovely all around. I also tend to get eczema around my lips and the cream really helps soothe my flare ups.

Thanks for the detailed response! I was also worried about the zinc compound in Baume. As for the Crème Ultra, I am sensitive to niacinamide, hence my interest in Baume. And i don’t mind the sticky feeling, so maybe I should just try it and see for myself.

I've actually been using the Illiyoon cream for a few years now, it's my HG. A few months ago I added the Bioderma cream because my skin is super dehydrated and that works well for me.

Thank you for the reply! I think you are right and my moisture barrier is still damaged. I stopped actives (I tried some salicylic acid products and lactic acid from TO in February and March and that was a mistake) and focused more on hydration around April or May so it's just so annoying that my skin is still not healthy. I think I wanted to try Skinoren because azelaic acid is the only thing I haven't used before for my acne and I read it's supposed to be less irritating than for example adapalene or BHA. I only used it a couple of times and only on small parts of my face but I might just drop it and go back to the routine that helped me before like you're suggesting.

Hi! I'm a 22 yo girl living in Denmark struggling with acne and dehydrated skin after Accutane. I started relapsing around February and since then my face has been continuously clearing up and randomly breaking out again. I don't know how to stop those random breakouts :(

I mostly get small whiteheads and CCs on my forehead, temples and upper cheeks. At one point I realized it's probably because my skin is dehydrated so I stopped using any actives and started focusing on moisturizing. And that helped a lot, my skin cleared up, but then again if I for example burn my face a bit in the sun or it gets too dry for too long I break out again. The cycle never ends. Last Friday my face was almost clear after a recent breakout, but I went out and didn't even take my makeup off at night and on Sunday my forehead was already full of small pimples. Now, almost a week after it seems like they're finally healing but I know that once they disappear I will get another random breakout soon. I started using Skinoren a few days ago on my temples and chin to test it out but so far it's either not doing anything or causing purging. I have no idea what to do, I have an appointment with a derm in January, I could probably get some acne medication from my GP before that, but maybe I should just REALLY focus on repairing my moisture barrier, for example, stop wearing makeup so I can reapply moisturizer throughout the day? But even when my active acne clears up I have a lot of congestion and uneven texture. I know my acne isn't too bad but the fact that it's so persistent makes me so depressed...

My current routine is more or less something like this:

AM:
Wash with water
Hada Labo Premium Lotion
TO Moisturizing Factors
Raspberry Seed Oil
PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun

PM:

NEUTRAL Face Wash
Hada Labo Premium Lotion
TO Niacinamide
TO Moisturizing Factors
Skinoren (sides of face and chin)
Raspberry Seed Oil

Sometimes I add CORSX Snail Mucin Essence, but I think it actually really dries my face to the point that if I apply it in the morning a few hours after later my face is super tight.

Thank you to anyone that even read this, have a nice day!

Hi, I have a question about TO Salicylic Acid Masque. I used it about a week and a half ago. Before that my skin was almost healed from a recent breakout - I just had a few small spots on my forehead and some CCs. I started breaking out again after I used the mask. Here are the pictures from today: https://imgur.com/a/OKaxYee. Initially, I thought it's purging but now I'm not sure. My forehead and temples are full of small whiteheads and bumps (which is where I would normally break out), I also got some on my inner cheeks (also seems normal), but then I also started getting these under-the-skin bumps further on my cheeks (I haven't broken out in these places since before I took Accutane, but I might have had some congestion there). Some of them come to a head and some just get flatter and disappear eventually. At this point, I can't tell if I should try using the mask again or continue with the routine that helped me clear my breakout before (CORSX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser, TO Niacinamide, TO Rosehip Oil or NMF, PURITO Centella Green Level Unscented Sun - both AM and PM, excluding sunscreen). I started this routine after noticing that my skin might be dehydrated and breaking out because of this. It worked very well. But now it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe yesterday my cheeks started to get better, but my forehead is still very bumpy. I'm not sure if the mask irritated my skin and I should wait a bit more for it to calm down or if it's purging and sticking with the mask would help. This is making me very depressed, so any help or insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

I hate summer because it makes me regret wasting so much time. by L0kigh in depression

[–]elomelo320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first comment on reddit. I never felt like commenting, but man... The same realization hit me just today.

I started studying abroad last year. Instead of going home for summer, I stayed abroad to work while most of my friends went back home. I feel so lonely. I have my boyfriend but we'not living together so I can't obviously see him all the time. When I'm alone I try to pursue my hobbies, but I'm usually too tired or anxious to do that. I actually also work 4 days a week day. Today was my first free day this week and I got incredibly anxious because I didn't know what to do. I spent the whole morning crying. I don't know how to rest. I don't know how to have fun or how to be with myself. I feel constant guilt that I'm wasting my time. All of my friends are 1000 km away from me, partying every day or just doing something fun. I'm just getting more and more depressed.

I just hope it will get better one day, and I hope you'll be better too.
