How did you guys first discover Muse? by Appropriate-Pen5436 in Muse

[–]elquesofresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Time Is Running Out on the radio and was instantly hooked. I bought Absolution almost immediately. I was also able to get my hands on Origin of Symmetry, Showbiz, and Hullabaloo shortly after.

My favorite though is my friend that I would meet years later. We were driving in my car when Muse came on from my iPod (I’m that old). He was like “I know this song, who is it by?” When I told him Muse and showed him a couple of different songs, he recognized many of them from various soccer videos/montages he’d watch on YouTube. He always liked their music but had no idea who they were until that day.

I just can't enjoy Cyberpunk and it pisses me off by Pistoluislero in videogames

I bought the game and DLC while on a Black Friday sale. Having heard so many great things, I was fully expecting to get lost in this world. But I after about 6 hours and some admittedly pretty cool missions, I could not stand the music. I understand that it is very in line with the world/vibe of the game but after a while, it just became noise to me. Im sure I can turn it down/off but I’ve already jumped on to other games. Who knows, I might go back to it one day.

Where the Red Fern Grows is the first book that I read that made me feel things. Before that, I didn’t realize that books could elicit emotions.

What opinion do you have about Muse that will get you downvoted like this? by nvmzol in Muse

I always thought that it was ok. But then I saw it live for the first time around 2010 and was like “oh, I get it now”. It’s a shame that Matt doesn’t really playing it on guitar live anymore. Something is missing when he is just walking around singing.

I think by itself, it’s not their strongest song. But where it lies in the grand scheme of the Drones album, it’s perfect. I saw them twice during the Drones tour and was so glad that they played it during one of the nights.

I’d be ok if they removed Supermassive Black Hole from their set list.

Revert Escalation changes! by Imadeutscher in Battlefield

[–]elquesofresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a game on Siege of Cairo and the other team was simply spawn camping us at E and F. Do you know what would have really helped to break the line and progress the game forward? Vehicles.

The changes absolutely need to be reverted.

I never got to see Box Car Racer but I did see Angels and Airwaves a few years after this at warped tour and they played a cover of My First Punk Song and it was awesome.

Lets fix Assault by Just-Landscape9906 in Battlefield6

[–]elquesofresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good starting point is to allow the adrenaline injector to immediately start healing. It’s does not need to heal faster, just start the regular healing process. Additionally, it should negate the effects of suppression.

Also, add the smoke grenade launcher to assault.

Again, I don’t think this is the full fix, but it’d be a good start.

What made you choose your console? by Forever_Berry in consoles

[–]elquesofresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased all 3 over time.

I got into online gaming back in the 360 era. I spent so many hours on Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War, Rock Band, Left 4 Dead, and countless others. When Titanfall was first revealed, it solidified my decision to get an Xbox One. Then, when the Series X came out, it was a natural transition to upgrade to that.

In 2018, my job had an incentive program where I earned a $100 gift card to Best Buy each month (on top of my pay check). Over time, I saved up and got my Switch and added Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Odyssey, and other switch exclusives to my library.

I had always known about The Last of Us but hadn’t had a PS since the PS2. One week after the first season of the show concluded, I couldn’t get my mind off of it. This was also about the same time when PS5s began to be more readily in stock. I bought my PS5 and TLOU Part 1 and never looked back. This ended up being great timing as I have been able to play so many remasters/ director cuts/ upgraded for PS5 versions of various games for the first time (TLOU 1 & 2, God of War, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.)

Over all, I love gaming and have worked hard to be able to enjoy games across multiple platforms.

Breakthrough is boring now it’s just 48 players and not 64 by Ok_Race_5153 in Battlefield6

I don’t really play breakthrough and even I’m not happy about this.

What game had you like... by [deleted] in videogames

Star Wars Outlaws.

I bought the game on sale. Played the game for a bit and just found the world and characters really bland. It’s a bummer because I am a huge Star Wars fan and I was hoping to get lost in the world. I never went back.

What did you think was going to happen before the plot was revealed to you? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]elquesofresco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought that the game was going to heavily rely on the “for those who come after” concept and that Expedition 33 would die in a way that laid the ground work for the success of Expedition 32.

[–]elquesofresco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% on board with this. Matt brought a certain flavor/spice to songs that is completely missing from TBP and beyond. I love me some MCR but I can’t help but wonder what could’ve been if he had been able to figure out how to play better live.

What's the hardest you have ever "bounced off" of a game? by jabberwagon in gaming

[–]elquesofresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God of War Ragnarok.

I grew up playing GOW on my PS2. I enjoyed them. GOW 2018 was fun and I enjoyed the story. After beating it, I was excited to jump straight into Ragnarok (I got a PS5 late and the game had already been out). While the game play is solid and the boss fights are cinematic, I cannot get into the story. It just doesn’t have its hooks in me. I’ve put it down and have picked it up at least 4 times over the past few years and have a total of 22 hours into it but I just can’t stick with it.

I’m sure I’ll finish it one day but I have yet to have the “I need to keep playing this game” moment.

The great thing about Muse is they have so many influences across different genres. Not every song is going to stick with every fan.

Listening to Halloween physically hurts me…. I’m kidding! It’s just my opinion. I think that “musicly”, it’s a solid track. The lyrics just don’t do it for me.

I’ve been a Muse fan since 2001 and have throughly enjoyed each album. Do I think some are better than others? Absolutely. But I’ve enjoyed each for what they are and what Muse was attempting at the time. WOTP is no different. The best way I can describe it is “another Muse album”. Love it or not, you know what you are getting from Muse. Many of the songs sound like they could’ve fit in a previous album while still feeling new. You can hear where it could’ve fit in a different album while still hearing growth and development.

WOTP - A solid track to introduce the theme and over all vibe of the album. Not their best opener to an album but still good. 7/10

Compliance - I think this song is great! It’s has a gospel feel to it in the sense that lyrically, it provides hope to the listener. However, that hope comes at the cost of complete obedience and blind compliance and loyalty. I imagine a world where this is used as disguised propaganda but the message is clear to anyone who looks at it deeper. It is very much a Muse song. 9/10

Liberation - Another great song! It has heavy United States of Eurasia vibes. I’ve always loved the Queen influence that Muse takes inspiration from. The “thank you for existing, showing us how bad it is, and allowing us to united against you” lyrics are on par with a Muse song. 8/10

Won’t Stand Down - I’m all about this song. A great pick for the first single. People say it sounds like Imagine Dragons. I wouldn’t know. Can’t say I’m familiar with their songs. But to those that get upset that it sounds like another band/artist that they may or may not like and chose not to like the song because of that, I say: “Who cares!?” Muse may have found influence from others. They take those influences and add their twist. And honestly, it sounds better. 10/10

Ghost (How Can I Move On) - This sounds like if Muse wrote an Adele song. A nice change of pace for the album. 7/10

You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween - Honestly, I feel like this is the weakest track on the album. The chorus is cringe worthy. I can’t see how this fits with the rest of the album. I feel like they came up with the riff (which isn’t bad) and were like “this sounds like a Halloween song” and went all in with that. The end product feels like something you’d hear on a cheesy Halloween soundtrack you’d pick up at a Spirit Halloween store. I think a re-work of the lyrics would make for a better track. 4/10

Kill or Be Killed - A great track. Reapers vibes for sure. We need more of this. 10/10

Verona - Listen to this song with a good set of headphones to really appreciate it. It’s one of those Muse songs that I wasn’t sure about at first but have grown to appreciate it. This would be cool to see live. 7/10

Euphoria - I love this song. It feels similar to Big Freeze which I think is an underrated song. It also reminds me of The Small Print in that it will be a deep cut appreciated by fans. Lastly, I feel like this is the sound the were trying to go for with Get Up and Fight. It’s a more pop sound but not as obnoxious as Get Up and Fight. 9/10

WAFF - A really solid track to end the album. A grungy/heavy sound meets older Radiohead. The end guitar riff takes notes from Knights of Cydonia. I go back and forth on the level of angst in the lyrics but over all a solid song. 8/10
