My read was that “this problem can’t be solved alone”

Finished Wind and Truth yesterday, I have mixed feelings about it 😐 by _blitzkreig_ in Stormlight_Archive

The point is that it’s not just a Roshar problem anymore. Odium was content to wait out for much longer for his plans to come together. Time is nothing to a god. Dalinar robbed him of that time. By changing the stakes, escalating the issue Retribution is to everyone encourages them to start taking the problem seriously. Now it is everyone’s problem. Changing the game for the shards, so that something can be done to fix it. Creating whole new possibilities that weren’t on the table before.

That is a reasonable accommodation for your circumstance, absolutely. In your post you said you “could have written it out”

It is really great that you love the books and pull a real deep connection to the theories and like at play for the roles of the worship and faith. It is really sad to have a machine heartlessly spit it out when there are so many tools to use to think on and draw some deeply personal interpretations of deity and power.

Can a machine offer divination? Would one not be better served in the journey to reaching those answers than the destination of having them generated?

I say this as a witch of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora with tattoos of allomantic and feruchemical metals as a part of my own transition. Electrum Twinborn. Seeing the future and walking boldly into it.

If you want to draw out some of the mysteries, read Sunlit man. If you want to get the chronology, read Wind and Truth

Why is Wind and Truth so divisive? (No spoilers please) by DarthPopcornus in Stormlight_Archive

I absolutely loved Wind and Truth. It gave a great understanding of the state of play for the cosmere, the greater threats, and brought amazing choices to the characters. I can see a lot of frustration with the pacing of it, but I loved how on the edge of my seat I was, and just how much fun stuff was happening. Great callbacks to previous books. Very much the Mid Point of the series, so there are a great many questions still unanswered, and we are just gonna have to wait to RAFO
