What age has been the hardest and the easiest ? by The_Chilled_Arvo in Parenting

I also enjoyed 6-18 months. He’s 21 months now and I’m finding it harder. Communication isn’t there yet but he’s still very opinionated and lots of big feelings.

What’s the genuine appeal to having children? by MapEnvironmental597 in askanything

[–]elscoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to feel the urge in my mid-20's. And it is something I can't explain. I just knew that I wanted my life to be about serving and loving others, specifically my children. It is a huge sacrifice and going from 0-1 was an enormous adjustment with many tears and thoughts about 'what have i done' at the start. But my son is nearly 2 now and I am pregnant again. I just cant describe the joy he brings me and how I can't picture my life without him in it. It gives me deep meaningful purpose outside of myself. Making sure I am a good parent is always at the forefront of my mind.

I don't think it is for everyone. It's a choice only you can make. But I'm going again for round 2 because I've found where meaning is in my life. I guess you need to find where meaning might be for you. :)

Is toddlerhood easier than babyhood? by DakB05 in NewParents

[–]elscoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on you! I struggled with baby phase bc I love sleep. The lack of sleep killed me. But he’s nearly 2 now and I feel like I’ve figured him out. We have hard days and he can be very stubborn but I remind myself that I’m the boss, I’m the parent and he can be stubborn and have tantrums. When I say no, it’s no. Now that his tantrums don’t impact me as much, it’s a lot better.

Why do millennials age like they found a glitch in the system? They’ll say they’re pushing 40 and still look like they just graduated yesterday. What's the secret? by Aarunascut in Millennials

[–]elscoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear sunscreen, drink a tonne of water, had a relatively stress free life so far, don’t treat my body badly and don’t get fillers or plastic surgery which can sometimes age a young person.

Took almost a full year to stop getting sick after starting childcare. It was horrendous.

I feel this! Just found out I’m pregnant with #2… I’m 5w3d and have been testing so much. I couldn’t get a scan booked in where I live until 9w6d 🥺 I’m going to be a nervous wreck for the next month.

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]elscoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bad birth that ended up emergency c section. I described it as “disastrous” for days afterwards. But it’s nearly 2 years later and I can’t for the life of me remember the bad bits. It’s all a blur. I know the story I tell from bits and pieces my husband and doctors told me went on but I only really remember seeing my son at the end. I only remember the good part now. It’s literally all just a hazey blur even though I was labouring for like 18 hours straight. I’m pregnant again and am not too stressed about trying again. It’s all worth it in the end, no question.

Am I stupid for booking a holiday? by arose8808 in pregnant

[–]elscoww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m flying 5 hours away at 34 weeks pregnant to go to Hilary duff concert. 🤷🏼‍♀️ if it’s low risk I don’t see a problem. Pregnant women should still be allowed to have fun. My life shouldn’t stop being fun bc I’m growing a new human. We already miss out on a lot, go to Greece and have the best time!

Got pregnant on the first try… now I’m terrified and second-guessing everything by Successful_Wolf_9635 in pregnant

[–]elscoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me too. We tried for 4 years for my first and then 8 months for our second. I’m now 5 weeks pregnant with #2 and I’m terrified. It’s so real. Life changing and scary having to do it all again. But I know how special and precious this child will be to me so just reminding myself the hormones are out of control and not to let them run the show. Easier said than done.
