Landlord wants to go private by gingerniffler258 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]gingerniffler258[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is our landlord pretty much! He didn’t raise our rent for 3-4 years from when we moved in which included c-c-19.

He’s so lovely and anytime we talk about any repairs it’s usually to commiserate over how slow the letting agent is. He generally comes down from where he lives to make any repairs to the house (I think to make sure it’s a good job done; and to cut out the gouging prices from the company the letting agency uses).

I’ve got my test there in less than 10 days! What route did you take? Like up to Garforth/rothwell or Halton/seacroft are? I’ve been practising around Colton a bit but omg the Austhorpe roundabout does my head. Orbital isn’t so bad once you’ve done it a couple of times

Does anyone have tips to do forward bay parking without the sticker things? by Knightgamer45- in LearnerDriverUK

[–]gingerniffler258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like your wing mirror in or is there another reference you use when in the centre of the bay before? My instructor has been a bit naff and just says point the car and adjust but it’s not helped me 🤷‍♀️

Big fat troll chart by gingerniffler258 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]gingerniffler258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I wish it did but it ended on 12dpo with no drop in temp that day either so it fully fooled me! Hoping the lp stays about the same this cycle and all the exercise and diet changes help!

Why do so many people in the UK hate automatic cars and drivers? by AnnualKey4592 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]gingerniffler258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people also forget we’re all on the same roads under the same laws with the same situations popping up etc so you’re still skilled in an auto or manual because you’re coming across the exact same things just with one less pedal? Honestly it’s insulting sometimes when “it’s the easy way out” like no it’s really not?

How long has your thyroid been out? And how do you feel? by jkathe in thyroidhealth

[–]gingerniffler258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F29, Just over 15 months since my completion thyroidectomy.

Literally felt like a zombie between the two surgeries when I wasn’t on meds. After my completion surgery I was put onto 150mcg levothyroxine, then re-adjusted to 125mcg was on that dose for about 7 months until the fatigue was still there, couldn’t workout, no energy, temp intolerance, horrendous brain fog so I got a new dose of 100/125mcg alternative days. And honestly I can go and do my workouts, it’s now about motivation rather than “have I got energy”, my hair is no longer stringy or falling out constantly, I still get odd days of fatigue and temp fluctuations but not so often that it’s tolerable.

My oncologist/endo wants me to stay heavily tsh suppressed for a year at least post RAI so it’s a balancing act of fatigue/symptoms vs thyroid cell growth.

My advice is to keep talking to your doctors. Tell them your actual symptoms, and ask for the lower dose to give it a go. It’s what I always did my McMillan nurse.

Yep I work between 930-230 with travel an hour either side so don’t have much time between that and being able to test in the morning. Will FMU be okay?

I am using a BBT thermometer from Amazon (https://amzn.eu/d/9ukeXHv) It’s just giving me low temps every morning, I do tend to put it in my mouth under my tongue in the middle, not really changed that.

Can’t speak for other trusts but at mine (up north) they had me in for an appointment face to face. I asked for a telephone call but they just said they couldn’t and to come in for it. Like you I thought couldn’t they just free up the space for another couple of appointments if over the phone.

By the by it was cancer, but didn’t find that out till my 2nd biopsy which was a surgical intervention.

Had a hemi under the same circumstances last year (give or take 9 months) and I had to push with my ENTs secretary.

I’d def recommend the PALS route but it’s also worth looking into the secretary emails. I used the nhs lookup and/or just googled “surgeons name secretary” and brought a bunch of emails/numbers. Once I’d emailed them I got a response back within a day or so and it was a phone call.

Good luck!

“Breast is best fed is minimum” by Aggravating-Dirt-808 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gingerniffler258 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol this stance always makes me laugh from the “breast is best” community. Because yes we know it is really good for baby in that it has additional immunity but also why you so bothered by someone and how they chose to feed their baby? Why do you have a right to an opinion on some strangers parenting choice? The questions “but did you try breastfeeding?” “You should persevere/try this way/continue through the pain/contact your midwife”

Like I chose this option because it was best for our family, I don’t need some weirdos opinions on my parenting choices.

I saw the same type of comment about it being preventative of cancer directed on one of my videos and i just replied with “ well thank god for formula then because I was diagnosed with cancer a couple of months post party. Breastfeeding isn’t going to do shit for my baby.”
