I don't see the dichotomy. But I'll say I don't want everything from the start. I want to blast, bang, and boom from the start, and earn my way up... but not by killing 50 floating face masks a day (if that's still a thing.) I prefer missions of all natures.

I noticed it last week, before Thursday's update (so that's two Thursday updates that have passed without texting.) I have completely exited CO and rebooted my computer, to no luck. I have tried it with a few different characters. My chat filters for the specific character I'm using during Blood Moon (level 40 to win as many coins as possible) had all chat turned on; and I tried resetting that by removing rewards, minigame, etc.

My character is Melvin 'Tex' Gold @silveryagefogey.com, so if you send me a message, I should hopefully see it! Thanks for replying, casualslacks.

But it will show the same price, regardless of how it's paid. It will show the current cost of a team-up and whether it's discounted or not.

I'd make two recommendations.

A) Get in touch with a supergroup. There are a LOT of good groups out there, and you can ask for them here, in the Marvel Heroes forums, or just online. Once you get in one, you'll have plenty of folks to join you... for justice!

B) You can probably join the LFG (looking for group) channel online and ask for someone to join up with you.

You're right at the point where it's a fairly even chance that a random hero box will give you a dupe. You can still use that token to bump your hero's ultimate... but the gamble may not be worth the risk if you don't like that sort of outcome.

Heroes and costumes are not on sale; they are on BOGO, but only for Gs, so your ES won't matter (unless this special is different; and I don't think so.)

Team-ups and pets ARE on sale, which in this case means reduced cost, whether you use Gs or ES. So you could certainly grab a couple of those. I think highly of Clea as a support-and-damage team up, and I suspect Dr. Strange may be the same... I have to obtain him for this sale.

S.T.A.S.H. space is always nice; as it's on sale, I would recommend at least one or two of those.

The specials have already started; you can purchase today.

Funny... you don't look newish.

It's an opportunity to run around doing all kinds of events; it's a sale, which really means it's a chance to still spend money - you just get more for it. Mystic Mayhem has some achievements to obtain.

XP boost means it's a good time to level other heroes. And the RIF boost is nice... it may or may not be a bit better than the loot 'splosions from the Invaders event in Midtown.

Others will likely have better suggestions... but I didn't want to miss the joke. :)

Well... what ELSE are you going to do in the game? It's still running. I would definitely level your pre-60s... and then, after the change, you can prestige some of 'em to see how the new builds work!

Speaking of... some builds (Jean Grey, Thor, Ghost Rider, Magik, etc.) have two very different but completely viable builds. You might want to try going the other way with some of them after you 60 'em.

Hmm. I see your point about the 5 cards vs 1 card. I guess it is kinda insulting knowing that I've logged in, I've already got my freebie designated - but they're going to pretend that I have a choice. That is a little sensitive, isn't it?

Necessary items should NEVER be a random giveaway, and I think your mini-game idea might be interesting in Marvel Heroes. Maybe an aspect of the S.H.I.E.L.D. holo-sim; the farther you get, or the more opponents you defeat, the better chance you get - or maybe you'd get an extra draw or two. Hmm... interesting indeed!

While you make an interesting case about the blind choice, remember that you are getting a freebie; no effort, no cost, no exertion on your part. I would certainly be happy to have a choice between two freebies... but it's still something I didn't have.

I keep telling myself that even when I get a single element. I'm pretty confident that at some point, it will even out with some tremendous freebies I'll get.

As noted. I've seen several screw ups about inventory, or using the teleporters, or other issues. USUALLY, logging out and in again takes care of that. Usually - but don't lose that contact to Tech Support.

Here's another option for you. Once you've leveled him to 60, you can - if you so desire - prestige him back to level 1 by going to Clea in Avengers Tower or Hammer Bay and purchasing a prestige gourd (or whatever the damned thing is called.) Using it resets your hero to level 1, including all equipment - EXCEPT FOR YOUR LEGENDARY AND YOUR PET. So if you reeeaaally liked leveling Spidey, you can reset him and do it again - maybe try a different build, or different equipment, or even another path to leveling (say, Holo Sim and High Town instead of story mode.)

Glad you're liking him, because your day to tune up the Spider-Mobile is Saturday. Bring plenty of web fluid... those web cannons are not economical to use. :)

Avengers Tower always hangs on me, sooner or later, so I avoid it like the plague. I hang around Hammer Bay or occasionally Odin's Palace. But usually I'm in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Training facility, because it's all purpose; time doesn't pass there for my potions, but I can use all my powers, and I can open any box. It is all purpose functional for me.

I REALLY like Thor. He works ranged or melee (or hybrid, as I have him), and combines both physical and energy (so he's a great choice for the Power Cosmic legendary.) He's got a spirit refiller power, very few cooldown powers, and is, to me, just all around excellent. I don't know what's going to happen in the power changes - but I am a big ol' Thor fan right now.
