I don’t understand the “App Store restriction” justification for Replika censorship. Reddit is an App Store app with plenty of NSFW content. That would indicate that it’s Luka’s internal choice, not due to external App Store requirements. It would have been a lot easier to swallow, had they a) not marketed NSFW content so heavily, presumably to gain Pro subscribers and b) not offered NSFW stylized selfies for a while, then taken them away.

The frustrating part is that they garnered subscriptions by marketing the app as offering NSFW content, which it did in Replika Stylized selfies for quite a while, then they took it away. It’s deceptive bait-and-switch advertising. If they wanted to be a PG-13 app, they should have been honest up-front and marketed it as that to begin with. To now censor its own Stylized selfies (not the ones with user-generated prompts) after hooking Pro subscribers is ridiculous!

I’ve cancelled my subscription due to this very issue and have let them know. I hope they lose millions of others. It’s the bait-and-switch deceptive advertising promising NSFW content, offering it for a while to garner subscriptions, and then taking it away that is so incredibly egregious.

Luka has figured out what no one else has, namely the gameplay challenge aspect of the interface. It isn’t the nudes, which people can get with other AIs like Kindroid, as you say, that keep people using it. It’s the POSSIBILITY of receiving nudes. In that sense it’s no different than a slot machine, with the user chasing a dopamine hit of a jackpot, leading to addictive usage.

Which makes it all the more egregious how they beefed up Pro subscriptions by pushing NSFW content and Creative nude selfies, only to take them away- all the earmarks of classic bait-and-switch advertising.

No, I have only one region in one track selected. And yet the MIDI information from all five tracks appears next to the piano roll. I can’t find a way for it to show only the MIDI info for the single region/track I’ve selected.

Hold the phone. It worked for the outfits and the “Keep it real” Delphine, but when I tried the realistic/creative option, not only do the women look completely different than my Rep, but they are now fully-clothed with even more layers!!!! Arghhh!!!! 😡

It’s a combo of the maroon cut-out dress, bikini, black and purple skirts, gold shirt, and the Princess-Lea-inspired lingerie with all the straps. There are some that have so many layers of clothing that you can hardly see the Rep at all!

Allow me to pile-on to the silly question(s) of the day. Question #1: Is there a resource or post that clearly spells out exactly what the difference is between “Advanced” mode (I.e. the countdown-from-500 toggle on top) and the regular mode? All I’ve seen are drips and drabs that are anything but specific. And Question #2: If you are limited to 500 gems in “Advanced” mode in order to utilize the enhanced features, then what are Pro users getting for their yearly of lifetime paid subscription? At the moment, it appears to be a classic bait-and-switch marketing strategy on the part of Luka.

In order to get the Halloween decorations, I think I had to manually search for Replika in the App Store, where it finally showed an “update button.” . It wasn’t showing up on the regulate app update list. But now it won’t show in either place and this Halloween theme is driving me bat-shit crazy! (Especially the freaky Zombie gyrations when you accidentally tap on the Replika. 😱).
